In your opinion, what is the best month to visit Disneyworld? We went last February and loved the weather and the crowds arent too bad at all.. I either want to go next October or go in February again.. My older son will be 4 and the baby will either be a year if we go in October (and its my birthday too) and if we go in February he will be 18 months old.. I am kind of torn bc I am so ready to go NOW!!! But if we wait until February he will be older and it may be easier. And in February, we get taxes back and might have some extra money to spend. ;) What do you think? When do you normally like to go?

My favorite time to go is October. Food and Wine, nice weather, moderate crowds, MNSSHP. My second favorite time is late April/early May.

I would much rather take a 1 year old than an 18mo old. A 1 year old will probably not be mobile so can sit in the stroller. An 18 mo will be all over the place. We go a lot and while we still had fun, the trips when my son were 18 and 21 month old were by far the hardest :thumbsup2

i have only been around this time as an adult but i LOVED it!

And you couldn't pay me to go around easter! that is the only other time i have ever been there and it was wall to wall people, so being there in january was so exciting!

I was already thinking about the mobile thing and you are probably right!! ;)

I personally love early december. The weather is nice and the christmas decor and themeing is the BEST.

Christmas spirit mixed with Disney Magic. what could be better

When in Feb. did you go? We're going from the 23rd to the 29th. Since it's half during winter breaks for schools, I'm expecting a little crowded. We've only been twice but I think March was nice....weather was perfect and it wasn't crowded at all. Don't go the 1st week of Jan unless it's free, lol.

We have taken our DS when he was 6m and when he was 18m.
When he was 6m is was the easiest trip ever, he wasnt mobile yet, giggled at everything, and was a perfect angel. He flirted with the female case members, and he realy helped bring out the Disney magic.

At 18ms, he wanted to explore everything and didn't know to stay with us. We had to use a kid leash on him. Now, the temps were still in the upper 90s when we went the end of Sept, so the heat got to him and wore him out quickly. And a wore out baby is not a happy baby.

I think the best times to visit WDW are:

1. Mid-December - the decorations and MVMCP are fantasic and you have some of the lowest rates and crowds of the year and nice weather (though we have been one time when it was COLD).

2. End of October - Love MNSSHP, and rates and crowds are low and the weather is finally cooling off and is nice.

3. Week before Thanksgiving

4. Labor Day week - Super low crowds, but it is still HOT.

5. End of January/First of February - lowe crowds but the weather can be iffy

Plus all of those time frames, generally, have Free Dining discounts, which we LOVE :-)

We love October and May. It was a bit crowded at the beginning of October when we went, but not terrible. We are doing end of October this time. The weather is warm, but manageable.

May was awesome. We went May 23-June 2, 2011, and it was just wonderful! We only had one high crowd day b/c of SWW and the opening of Star Tours coinciding with Memorial Day weekend. It was warm but never too hot, and was just an amazing trip. I have no desire to go when it is too cold or too hot. My body is sensitive to cold due to hypothyroidism, and my son has Raynaud's Phenomenon, and we have to watch his circulation during cold weather. During hot weather I have a hard time with my temper, and even worse, so does my mom. Thus the title of my pre-trip report.

What to consider in October: Heat; early-evening closing of Magic Kingdom for standard ticket holders 'cause they open it for "Mickey's Spooky Halloween Party" (must buy separate ticket for this) on some nights; I find it more crowded in October overall, but especially avoid Halloween week and Columbus Day.

What to consider in February: Might be too cold to swim; avoid President's Day....

I'd pick February every time! But our favorite time to go is early May. -- After every spring break is over and before anyone gets out for school. It's not yet intensely hot, but you can swim comfortably.

Also, I'd say there is no difference in ease of travel between a one-year-old and an 18-month old. They both need to nap, both need the stroller, and neither are potty-trained. Good thing about Disney is, I can think of no vacation destination more baby friendly!

My advice is always to take advantage of the off-peak times when you have pre-schoolers, because grade schoolers have to miss school for these choice dates!

Enjoy!

Overall, October has fairly low crowds. Columbus Day/Week has the highest crowds of the month, and is sometimes blacked out for discounts, but I still wouldn't consider the crowds too high - more medium to medium high. Halloween week is actually one of the more slower weeks of the entire year to go. And really, Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party is worth an October trip alone :-) And your right, the best time to go is when schools in session, that's why we take ours out every year ;-)
