I vote for POR for the following reasons:

1) the stately mansions
2) laid back Allagator Bayou
3) awesome Old Man Island swimming pool
4) ferry to Downtown Disney
5) gorgeous landscaping
6) newly rehabbed food court

POFQ is a close second for me, and I have never stayed at the other two mods.

I must be in the minority here....we didn't enjoy POR very much, mainly due to the HORRIBLE bus service there. :headache: We're trying CSR this time around-I hear their bus service is much better. Plus, being from the South already, POR architecture offers nothing new or different for me. Thanks to Buzz's wonderful site & pictures, I'm looking forward to trying CSR! :)
You're not the only one. I feel the same way as you about the bus service at POR/FQ. I too converted thanks to buzz's site. CSR hands down!

I've never stand at Port Orleans FQ or Dixie Landings(aka POR), but I've stayed at Caribbean Beach and Coronado Springs. I found them both to be nice resorts but very spread out. I have a warm spot for CBR though, it was the first Disney Resort we ever stayed at and hooked us for life..

POR. We first started staying when it first opened and only stopped when we bought DVC. My DS is 23 and my DD is 21 and they still like going to the pool. The grounds are beautiful and the food court was hugh. It has recently been redone and haven't seen it yet. Boatwrights is one of our favorite places to eat. I also like the fact the rooms are in separate buildings in Alligator Bayou. You very rarely get someone walking past your room like a POFQ.

I love POR, though I've never stayed at any of the others.

Another vote for POR. Never had a problem with the bus service (and we were way in the back of Alligator Bayou so certainly not the first stop!). I like that if you want some activity, you can go to the main pool or the poolside bar or the indoor bar/restaurant, but if you prefer some peace and quiet you can go to one of the many "quiet pools" or just retreat to your room to relax without fear of pool noise (like so many of the Value rooms!!).

My vote is for Port Orleans French Quarter. This is my favorite moderate resort!!! It's small & compact, so it's easy to get everywhere at this resort. Have had great service at this resort.

Have stayed at POR & CBR and did not like either one of them. Way too spread out for my taste. Had pretty poor service at CBR and felt unsafe walking across a dimly lit parking lot at night to get from the bus stop to my room at night.

CSR! Walking around the lake at night is, alone, worth the price of the resort.

I liked CSR. The pools were great, we loved Panchito's, the arcade, the great restaurants, but didn't love how spaced out it was. It was HUGE, which my family wasn't a huge fan of.

And thanks for the feedback everyone !

My family wants to choose a new resort this time (nothing against CSR, we just want a new experience), so I'm leaning towards either POR or CB now .. but POFQ looks good too .. hmm ....

Then I would go with POFQ for a second choice.

Guess I can't vote either since I've never had the pleasure of staying onsite. I love reading the comments because it's in the budget for our next trip.

Right now I'm leaning towards CSR. My daughter will just love the pool.

1. CSR - we loved it 2x and will return over and over
2. POR - we loved it 4x and will gladly return
3. POFQ - never stayed but toured, not one I would go to unless the above were booked and I wanted moderate
4. CBR - stayed once and no plans to go back

Definitely choose any of them but CSR....too convention like. The remaining three are all beautiful!

Have a safe trip!

I would LOVE to go back coranodo springs. But it would be nice to try a diffirent resort this time.

I voted for POFQ because it is a smaller resort and the whole theming is very unique. I have never been to New Orleans and have always wanted to, so that was as close to me going...until I go for real :). I have only visited POR to walk around and to eat at Boatwright's. Because this is my DH's fav mod, and my goal is to stay in every Disney resort, I didn't mind booking it for our trip in June. The surroundings is so beautiful with the mansions and all the trees. I also love the fact that you can take a ferry to DTD and can also use the amenities at POFQ. Also, the horse and carriage rides is a big plus in my books:yay:
