Hi all! It has been a long time since I havae posted here. I would like some opinions on my vacation in Oct. My husband and I usually stay deluxe. We did stay at POR for 1 trip and have to been back to a mod. since. We did not have a good stay (we did arrive on Sept. 11) We were put in a room farthest away form everything on the backside of the resort. I have paid for a King room with a water view and we ended up in a standard room facing the parking lot. I went back to the front desk and inquired about our room. I showed them my ressie slip and they said they did not have any water view rooms available and that I should be happy I had a room at all! I actually had to ask for a refund and then the CM made a huge deal about having to refund my money! I vowed from that day on we would never stay there again. Well, it looks like I am going to have to eat my words. My husband is suggesting we go to WDW for the Epcot Food and Wine Fest. :cool1: He has informed me that my room budget for this trip will be smaller due to the fact that we will be booking some of the special programs and dinners during the festival. :crazy2: Ok, here is where yal come in. What mod. do you like best. We are big Epcot people and spend most of our time there. I don't like long bus rides. In fact I HATE them! Please help!!! Any details you can give me to back up your opinion is greatly appreciated :worship:

We like the CBR.

We were at the CBR during sept 11. I was there for 13 days and this was in the middle of my trip. The CM"S were stressed out that day. People checking out that could not gp home due to no flights going out and had to extend their stay. People not turning in rental cars and driving home. The people that did arrive--ok where are we going to put them?? I know that the CM's at CBR did everything they could to make the best of it. Also keep in mind that all parks were evacuated and people were told to take up ticket issues at their resort if staying on property. The guest relations line at EPCOT must have been 3 miles long!! It was a mess, and I have to say I felt Disney handled that day great. Every white/black vest manager/exec. was by the park entrances trying to keep everyone in line. And handing out cards for guest communications for those who chose not to wait in that line.

Returned to the resort and they had a madhouse there too. We went back later that day around 6 and the zoo had cleared out.

We are trying CBR for the first time next month. We have previously stayed POR and POFQ. My advice is to look at pictures and decide what appeals to you (in order). Our personal fav is POFQ.

I was also there on 9/11/01. We were starting our 3rd day. We were one of the people who "stole" our rental car in order to drive home! I think its natural that most people were very stressed out. No one knew if more acts of terrorism were going to happen........those CM's had to be at work, not at home with their families.........

Please don't judge folks based upon one of the worst days in US history. And don't judge the resort based upon that one experience......

Enjoy your trip!

damn sept 11
sorry, this post just brought back all the memories of that day (our 3rd day at WDW) - today, I still feel guilty for being so upset and selfish about what the terrorists had done to our vacation. people were dead and I was mad because I had to tell our 2 little boys that we had to go home. Today, I'm just glad I had a home and a job and a family to go home to...

anyway - pardon for the interruption

My family loves CBR, and it is also close to Epcot. We tried Dixie Landings one time, and we just did not like it. When my daughters were younger, we requested Martinique, but now we request Jamaica 45. Good luck on choosing a moderate.

All the mods are great. It comes down to preference. Check out my CSR website for pics, links and info. We love CSR!

Our favorite moderate resort is POR because it is such a nice peaceful :cloud9: resort, and we love the pool!
