Hi everyone! My wife, 2 year old son and I are going to Disney in September and will be staying in a Moderate Rsort for the first time. My Wife and I are both Disney Veterans. We've stayed in the Contemporary twice and the last 3 trips have been spent at the All Star Movies Resort. We've been pretty dissapointed with the experience there and have figured that "You get what you pay for." So we're moving up to a Moderate, but don't know anything about any of them, other than what's on the Disney web site and Allears. Any help would be appreciated.

Personally I love the Coronado. I have yet to stay at FQ because it was under refurb when I was down last, but I would assume it falls inline with Riverside being it is the "sister" hotel. I would rate Riverside as a close second and Caribbean as last.

I love the layout, the quietness, the huge pool, the pepper market. There really wasn't one thing I didn't like. You can pick and choose at the pepper market a variety of things to eat. And there is also the Maya Grill, a sit down type restaurant that is nice too.

Although I have never stayed at a moderate, I have researched and in my opinion, POFQ would be a great place. The pool area looks like a lot of fun and then you have the boat ride to DTD which would make for a nice evening.

Oh and
GO NOLES!!!!

My vote is for Coronado. I have not stayed at either POR or POFQ but they don't interset me...theming seems very northern Wisconsin (especially POR) which I can get when ever I want.

I love everything about Coronado, the pool, the grounds, the food court, the margaritas, the buses, everything.

Caribbean is nice, the grounds are pretty but the pool is small for the resort size, the buses were kind of slow and the food court was nothing special.

Actually, I still call it Dixie Landings. Much better name IMHO. ;)

It is spread out though. Same with CS and CB. That can be good and that can be bad.

I would like to try PO-FQ next time. A moderate, but not as spread out.

POR felt very "southern" to me, and I lived in Virginia for a few years. I like either section.........they both have their own feel to them. Loved the food court.

Sooner or later I would like to try all of the WDW resorts. Poor DH will have to put up with all of the planning I want to do.

I've stayed at Coronado and Caribbean. I really enjoyed them both.

At the Caribbean, I really loved the tropical feeling.

I want to try POFQ next time. It doesn't look like Northern Wisconsin to me at all. It looks like New Orleans. I love the iron work on the buildings.

I would suggest deciding which theme you like the most and go with that resort. They are all very nice.

We've stayed at POR and CSR. We will not be staying at POR again. We didn't like it at all. However, we stayed at CSR during Christmas week and we will be staying there again the last week of June. It's a beautiful resort and I can't think of anything we didn't like about it. We loved the Pepper Market and can't wait to eat there again. We've also stayed at Contemporary and that's where we originally had our June ressies but we switched them to CSR. That's how much we love it.

I've stayed at CBR and Riverside (I still call it Dixie Landings too;)
My vote is, hands down, Port Orleans Riverside. I have not stayed at POFQ, but I've walked around a bit and been in the pool. Seems like a nice resort too. For me, and my family, we have ALWAYS been impressed with Riverside though, much more so than Caribbean.
Best parts: GREAT themed pool with wonderfully quiet smaller pools throughout the resort (much the same set up as other moderates, but we just seem to like these better). WONDERFUL food court. We have always been very happy with the quality and speediness of the food here. LAID BACK atmosphere, lots of walking room, not very loud, lush greens and great attention to detail. Finally, THE BUSSES are almost always quick to run, have only been full on two instances (at park closing) for us, and have been quite frequent.
If it were me, I wouldn't even give it a second thought, RIVERSIDE is, for my family, by far the best moderate we've been to. Also, I've stayed at the ASMu resort, and you're right, you do get what you pay for, so you're in for a real treat!!! Have fun, and remember wherever you go, at least you're in WDW!!!
:earsboy:

Hi everyone, FSUMarchief is my hubby! :love2:

Looks like we've narrowed it down to POR or CSR...thanks for all your help! We are leaning towards CSR because it is so much "different" from our other experiences. We'll keep you posted!

I love FQ. It is the smallest moderate. It is easy to get around. The pool is a cool location. The theming is lovely. It is very quiet and peaceful.

Dona :wave2:

Love POFQ. We're DVC members and always stay in a DVC resort but every trip we also stay a couple of days at POFQ. It's small and just beautiful.
