Hi-ya Folks,

My wife and I are debating the Moderates for our upcoming trip. We've stayed at the Carribbean and Port Orleans FQ....between them we like the PORFQ the best b/c of the smaller setup and boat to Downtown Disney.

I'd be interested in everyone's opinion of the Moderates....especially Port Orleans Riverside and Coronado....Thanks!

:confused3

CSR is a very good choice. No shared buses at CSR like POR. Check out my CSR website below for pics and info.

I also prefer CSR for many reasons. The buses are quick and efficient, the food court is very good and the pool is fantastic.

We've stayed at CSR, POFQ and CBR. They are all wonderful, but we've crossed POFQ off our list because there is no TSR (the food court was pretty lame on our last visit).

We had mousekeeping issues at CSR, and DH said seeing people in business meetings interfered with the magic.

CBR is our favorite mod overall.

I think all of the MODs are wonderful but
you have pick the one that you enjoy the theme of.
We've tryed CSR, POR and POFQ.
Both PO resorts seem to be more Disney & Family oriented.
CSR was geared toward conventioners but still nice
(since CSR was the 1st MOD we stayed at we had nothing
to compare it to-until we tryed the PO resorts).
As of now the PO Resorts are our Favorites.
We just really enjoy the Boat Ride to DTD.
If you stay at POFQ--it is only a short Walk or Boat ride to POR
for a VEry Good TS restaurant "Boatwright) Excellent Breakfast
(make sure you get ADRs). You can use either Main pools at the PO resorts
since they are sister resorts. The PO resorts are very relaxing, the landscaping
in very beautiful (great for taking a nice walk).
We will eventually try CBR and I'm sure we will enjoy it also.

Given that you like POFQ because of its smaller size and boat to DTD, then I'd stick with that. POR is larger (but still has the boat to DTD) and CSR is larger as well.

Our family is split on this. The only thing we agree on is that we all dislike CBR but are looking forward to trying it again once the pool area is re-done.

Dh loves POFQ. He loves the small size, boats to DTD, DDE discount in the food court, access to POR, and theming. The kids enjoy the pool and playground. Since the buses stop here first, we could always grab a seat. The negatives: the boats to DTD at night were often full with POR guests, so we had to wait quite a while. Also, a LOT of people stay at POFQ/POR, so the buses were always very, very full. Finally, if you enjoy wandering around your resort, there's not a whole lot to explore at this tiny resort unless you want to hike over to POR (which some people really like to do, not minding all that extra walking after a long day in the parks).

The kids (ages 15, 7, and 5) prefer POR over POFQ. 7 yo ds loves the trundle bed. Both boys enjoy the main pool (but not the "pool Nazi's" as other guests during our last visit nicknamed the lifeguards here) but all 3 kids spent far more time in the not-so-quiet quiet pool close to our room. During our July visit, we stayed in Building 15 of the Alligator Bayou. The plantings were quite lush, if a little overgrown and out of control. The boat from here to DTD was not quite as convenient. The trip to POFQ seeming to take a surprising amount of time. Service in the foodcourt was uneven. Sometimes it was fast and good, while other times it was slow and disappointing. We found that most service stopped before 11:30 pm, with the drink station being totally enclosed in plastic wrap by this time each night. (It was supposed to open until midnight during our last stay.) Again, it was nice being able to share facilities with POFQ. We visited the neigboring pool once, and got off the bus early to get some beignets one night. Even though we had easy access to the bus stop in front of the main building, buses almost always were already full of POFQ guests. Thus, we had quite a long "stand" no matter where we were heading. It took some time for the buses to circle this resort.

CSR remains the favorite mod of my middle child (ds 7) and me. He loves the long slide at the pool, and I love the very, very detailed theming. During our first visit, we stayed in Casitas building 2. We looked out on a long, fountain (especially beautiful when lit at night) and the quiet pool (which was actually quiet!!!). The walk to the main pool was quite long, but there were plenty of carts around to give us a lift. We enjoyed the CS food, and found the service to be exceptional. Buses were frequent and never full, despite visiting at a time when every single room was booked. This definitely felt more like a deluxe resort to me than any of the other mods.

I guess I really didn't help much, did I? As I always say, you can't go wrong with any of the Disney resort choices. Choose the resort which most appeals to you.

We just got back from POR and really enjoyed it . We liked the boat ride to downtown and we enjoyed the ducks in the morning by the river. It is absolutely a beautiful resort. I do not have any others to compare. I just know I plan on staying at POR again whern we go back.

I absolutely love CSR but if you enjoy a small resort, you probably won't be crazy about CSR. I'd stick with POFQ or try POR.

I recommend CSR! Awesome pool/slide for all ages, the transportation is some of the best I've experienced and it doesn't share with another resort and the food options are great!!

We love the Riverside and Caribbean Beach....We stayed at CSR and it was too "conventional meeting" feelings for us. Seeing "Hello my name is" everywhere we turned was a turnoff for us.

I love the Riverside because it is so beautiful and relaxing...The Caribbean Beach is beautiful also with the tropical surroundings. My kids love the pool at the Riverside because it's wild enough to not be boring, but not too wild that I have to worry about them going down the slide.

Whatever you choose, you're still going to Disney! Have a great trip!

We have stayed at all of them...
My dh objects to the size and layout of them. Too spread out.

EXCEPT for POFQ.This mod he likes!

I like them all, and think CSR is a gem, but I don't like to listen to him complain.:rolleyes1

I would have to say our favorite resort is either POR/POFQ because with our DD(3-1/2) we found that we should only do the parks two days straight and relax around the resort on the 3rd day. We just like having the ammenities that those resorts give us, like bike rental, boat rental, carriage ride and the boat to downtown disney. Also; since POR refurbished their food court, 2 different food courts to choose from, since you can walk to either resort.

We love the CSR--quiet, laidback, relaxing, great pools, spa/fitness center, food court. We have never stayed at POR and probably never will (went for dinner last year and it was way too noisy of a resort for us.
