We are planning a DW trip in September...I have a 10 year old and a 5 year old (both girls)...which moderate resort is the best or sell me on a deluxe or other official hotel of DW...I have been ivestigating but would like opinions - thanks...

I would vote for either Coronado OR Caribbean Beach, but would lean towards CBR. Here's why:

The Coronado Springs has the BEST pool of any of the moderates. It's huge, beautiful, fun, and has a great slide (not just for kids....just ask my husband!). I can't remember if this resort had an arcade or not. There are a few quiet pools, but they don't offer much privacy. There's a small lake & you can rent small motorboats but I don't really recommend this because the lake is very small & you just end up going in circles. We weren't too thrilled with the food court at this resort.

CBR is a sprawling resort with white sandy beaches, great for kids. Some of the villages have small "jungle gyms" situated right on the beach. Each village has its own quiet pool that is located within the village, but apart from the actual room locations. These "quiet pools" are great for families with younger kids (parents can easily keep an eye on them). The resort also has a great themed pool with a waterfall, and a kiddie pool located right next to it. There's also an arcade, and a stand with CM's that do Caribbean-style braids in little girls hair. CBR is situated on a large lake that is great for boating. Last but not least, this resort has recently been refurbished, and now has a completely new restaurant which I hear is really great.

Whichever resort you choose, I'm sure you'll have a great time!

I have stayed at CBR and CSR and Coronado is my favorite resort!

CSR has three themed areas (casitas-gorgeous! ranchos-best themed! cabanas- tropical, beachy. )

The pool area is great! I think your ten year old will think the slide at CBR is "babyish". I felt VERY silly going down it. The hot tub at CSR is HUGE and the kiddie pool, playground, and arcade are right there. The pool bar also has some good lunch selections . They also have the hairwrapping.

The rooms have coffeemakers, coffee, mugs, hairdryer, iron and board.

The best location to be close to food court and pool would be Cabanas 9B.

the food court is WONDERFUL!!!! so organized and great sections. they also have a convenience market and bakery window. The Maya Grill had an excellent breafast buffet.

The marina has boats and bikes. Rent a surrey and go all around the resort.

I also love CBR andn will return there, but the pool at CSR can't be beat and the whole resort has a more "deluxe" feel to it!

I would definitely choose CBR. We feel that CSR is a little too adult and corporate feeling for us. CBR has beautiful beaches, great playground equipment on the beaches, and nice pool where it is easy to see you kids from the sides, wonderful quiet pools, great quiet little courtyards, nice sized rooms with 2 sinks instead of 1, like at CSR... and they don't charge a surcharge for using the food court.
