well, i had decided on YC for our Anniversary trip & then it hit me just how much money we could save choosing a moderate! I've never done a moderate, but what the heck ....i'm sure they are fine. What is the best moderate for a couple? We will be doing mainly EPCOT & MGM. THanks!

Hey! I've only stayed in one mod-CBR and it's right by MGM and Epcot!!!
I would HIGHLY recommend this for a quiet, annivesary trip!

First, try to get a king room (maybe a water view, corner room).
The rooms are as large as WL and AKL and were just renovated. They are really very pretty and so colorful!

If you want privacy and don't care about the food court/ main pool, I would request a more remote area and just lounge at the quiet pool and in the hammocks on the beach! How romantic!

You can stroll around the lake, rent a boat, and just relax. This is a very tropical, relaxing, quiet resort!

Evenings spent strolling around the World showcase and the Boardwalk sounds soooo nice!!!!!!

The travel time to and from the moderates to MGM and Epcot are probably very similar and within a few minutes of eachother. I would choose the moderate resort that has a theme that will please you both. The main pool at Coronado Springs is great and makes you feel like you are in an exotic local. The quiet pools were nice there too. PO resorts are very parklike in there grounds and are very pleasent. Carribean beach has an exotic feel too and has slightly larger rooms. Which ever one you choose, request a top floor room for a quieter stay.

I'd go with CSR. It is beautiful in the moonlight. We just got back from our anniversary trip at WL. We usually stay at moderates and that's what I would go back to for the same reason you stated.

The only moderates I have stayed at are POFQ and CBR. My vote would be for POFQ. Because POFQ is smaller it has a more intimate feel. The cobblestone streets, the exteriors of the buildings are really pretty. My experience there was very quiet - not a lot of large crowds or noise. Request a king room, away from the pool, with a river view - very romantic! The boat ride to Downtown Disney is also a very nice way to travel!

Whatever you decide, enjoy! Dh and I spent our anniversary at WL last year - anniversaries at WDW are so much fun!

I always kind of chuckle to myself when I see "What's the best moderate?" types posts. That's cause there is never a definitive answer. In all honesty, the amenities, travel times to parks, etc. are about the same at the moderates. It really comes down to which theme you prefer, cause that is about the only major difference.

Don't get me wrong, there are some differences. CSR only has one sink in rooms, POR & POFQ have the boat to DD, CBR has rooms that are ~30 sq. ft. larger than the others.

You are going to get a different opinion on this topic from person to person. I say, check out the pics and see which atmosphere you like the best. DH and I are staying at POR for our anniversary cause it reminds us of the place we got married.

Good luck!

I think it's a beautiful resort with an gorgeous pool. If you would like a waterview, you can't go wrong in the Cabanas section. Plus, CSR has the great advantage of a direct bus to and from the Boardwalk - if you plan to be at Epcot a lot, it's very convenient (and pretty) to be able to walk in and out through the International Gateway entrance. Much better than dealing with the front entrance at Epcot!

I would go with CSR too but if you are going later this year, they are the only mod without a code. No code, no discount. Sorry. But if you are talking about next year, I suggest CSR. Check out my website below

POR! We stayed there for our honeymoon and it was fantastic. Quiet, romantic, beautiful. We are going back for our 1st anniversary.
