Hubby and I are planning a trip in October. We currently have reservations but I am second guessing my choice.

The most important things to us are a Hot tub with late night hours and hopefully a pool bar. Reliable buses as we will not have a car. A nice food court to grab something quick either in the early morning or late at night. Would also like to avoid long walks to get to the bus stop, hot tub and food court.

Which resort would you recommend and why?

POR preferred room.

Port Orleans French Quarter. Small and intimate grounds. Close to bus stop, food court and gift shop, no matter where your room is located. Hot tub and pool are both nice, again with easy access. The boat to Downtown Disney is a big plus as well. DH and I stay there more often than not. Good luck!

Port Orleans French Quarter (aka, POFQ)
. . . smallest resort
. . . quaint
. . . short walks to anywhere
. . . good food court
. . . great bakery
. . . best pool slide on property
. . . hot tub conveniently located
. . . super bus service

AND.....Mardy Groggs....Really good pool bar! :cool1:

Also, the hot tub is sparated from the pool so you tend not to get the little ones going back and forth. :thumbsup2

I was going to recommend POFQ as well. Smallest moderate resort, great bar, walking path along the water to Port Orleans Riverside, which also has a fun bar with Piano Bob Jackson, who puts on a great show! There are horse and carriage rides, boat rentals, and a table service right there at Riverside, too.

Woo-hoo! Glad to hear all these votes for POFQ, since I will be there in 2 months!!!

We were childless for the past 8 or so times we went and we preferred CSR hands down. It has the most adult feel to it; the common areas are very well done. It is a big resort, but there 4 bus stops and they always have drivers in golf carts that can shuttle you around.

They have a new lounge, Club Rix, that is beautiful, and the food court has some great options.

We have stayed at all the moderates (love them all), but as a convention hotel, I think CSR definitely tries to cater to the adult.

Have Fun!

For the POFQ recommenders... Do they let you stay in the Hot Tub as long as you want or do they kick you out?

How late is the pool bar open?

CSR is where we are booked right now but the pool bar closes at 6ish which we won't even be at the resort then! We stayed at CBR in '09 and had no issues there. We were in Jamaica an found the walk to the pool to be ok and bus service was great! I would go back to CBR but would like to try something new.

Coronado Springs Preferred room!! The resort is amazing! To me the rooms are almost like staying at a deluxe! It feels like you are on a mexican vacation right in disney! It's big on conventions so you'll see alot of adults there... The gift shop is great and the food court is great! This would def be my choice if I was in your shoes!!:thumbsup2

We will be staying in a KING room. I refuse to pay for more than one upgrade so preferred room is out.

the single hot tub at POR is usually packed till late at night. i doubt you will find it appealing

expect similar at POFQ

you might want to pay a bit more and stay Wilderness Lodge, the TWO side by side hot tubs there are more available.. i really enjoyed those

if not willing to pay more, agree that CSR best

CSR, CSR, CSR!!!!!

We honeymooned there, went for our 1st anniversary trip... We later took my parents there and they agreed with us - even without the parks, that's a resort we'd stay at.

I have stayed at CSR & CBR, both of the hot tubs were full of kids. They are obnoxious swimming, splashing & parents don't care kids are bothering the adults. Those resorts especially CBR have great spaces for the kids instaed of them playing in the hot tub.

The plus about POR/POFQ resorts is that you have a boat ride to DTD. You can drink and stay out as late as you want.

Have you considered swan/dolphin? Great location: its right at the boardwalk/jellyrolls, walking distance to both Epcot & HS.

Having stayed in all of the moderates, they are all really great! My two top choices would have to be Port Orleans, both Riverside and French Quarter being my favorite for its charm and small size. I especially chose POFQ for my solo trip next month because of the size so I feel more safe walking to my room at night. POR has a much better food court, and a table service restaurant that serves lunch and dinner. There are more pools at POR and the main pool is much better there also than POFQ. I like how POR is so spread out so it always felt so empty when we stayed there. So relaxing and quiet.

CSR!!! We were married on Luau Beach last October and stayed at CSR for our wedding/honeymoon. We had a water view in a perferred building. It was perfect and quiet. We always love spending a quiet evening out on the beach area in a hammock.

Im going with the CSR crowd. We love that resort and when I go solo that is where I stay -- because it tends to cater more to the adult crowd. The pool restaurant may close early but I don't remember the pool bar closing however, with the patio bar down by the main building open at night, you can sit by the water and relax. I really recommend CSR.
