Best WDW moderate ?
For 2 older adults - DH & DW
Good beds
Nice storage
Good buses to the Parks.

The pool is not the first reason to go to the resort
Th food court can be OK - we eat breakfast in our room and usually eat
our other meals in the Parks.

Value resorts have too may young children :rainbow:running around
Deluxe resorts are out of our budget. :worried:

Our time frame is early November, before Thanksgiving.
We would stay about 8 nights.

Thank you for your opinions

Port Orleans first pref Riverside in mansion section. Second pref French Quarter.
We love the mansion section of Riverside. The buildings are along the river. Love walking out of our building and strolling along the river. It’s so relaxing. I request a location close to the Old Man Island foot bridge. Pretty central location.
Great food court. We usually have a lunch or dinner there, love the make your own pasta bar. We aren’t commando touring people and generally take an afternoon break back at resort, rest, enjoy pool, POR have quiet pools so you can get away from the afternoon pool parties at main pool.
Boat to Disney Springs!
Carriage rides. Even if we don’t go on one, I just love hearing the clipity clip of them going by.
Fun evening entertainer in lounge.
We prefer the satellite bus depots over main stop. We usually use the depot behind Magnolia Terrace. It’s quieter and less chaotic than main stop. We’ve had good busses here.

We also enjoy POFQ, it’s a sister resort to Riverside and shares many of the same amenities. It also has boat service to Disney Springs, and it’s a very pleasant walk between the resorts along the river if you wish to use any of the facilities at either resort. Pofq has no quiet pools, just the main pool. And has only one bus stop which meant view as a plus. It’s a smaller resort and everything is closer together.

POFQ for us. It's small and a short walk from anywhere to the food court and bus stop. There is a boat to Disney Springs and you can either take that to POR or you can walk. We were in Building 7 at New Year and it was a 7 minute walk along the riverside. We like the Food Court at POR as it has a bigger selection of options but aren't bothered about the pools. We liked that there was only one bus stop as you don't spend additional time going round the resort on your way to the Parks or once you get home later. Buses were regular and we didn't encounter any problems either going to or returning from the Parks we were visiting. Definite thumbs up from us!

Another vote for Port Orleans. While we prefer POFQ, we often stay at PORS (easier to get deals / special offers here). As @Sue M mentioned, the carriage ride around the two resorts and boat ride to Disney Springs are big draw factors for our family. We love the laid back atmosphere and gorgeous landscape of both PO resorts. POFQ has only one bus stop and is a quick walk to any part of this resort. We often get up early (6am ish) and get a coffee and sit in courtyard between buildings 5 & 6 and just people watch as guests start to get ready for the parks. This also gives our teens a bit of time to sleep in longer than we do. It is so relaxing and pretty looking out over the gardens and the water. If we are staying at PORS, we often take a morning stroll over to the French Quarter to grab an order of beignets. Lovely walk along the river. Good luck deciding.

Another vote for POR. We loved having a preferred room as it was a short walk to the main building. Nice boat ride to Disney Springs. Food at restaurant & food court was good. Relaxing resort.

Yet another vote for FQ. Its small compact everything is about a 5 minute walk. They have the boats for Disney Springs and only one bus stop.

French Quarter has lovely grounds and is nice and quiet. I loved just sitting out every morning and enjoying the scenery and birds.

POFQ - it's small and only has one bus stop. We also like being able to take the boat to Disney Springs, plus you can use the pool at both POR and POFQ.

I would stay away from CBR due to the extensive construction. With that said I personally would go by best price, I don't think you can go wrong with CSR, POFQ, or PORS.

CSR--looks like you've stayed there before? If you enjoyed it I would try it again.

Isn’t CSR under construction too with a tower being built?

Another POR vote here. The landscape is lush, resort is quiet and I love being able to take the boat rather than the bus. It's much less crowded and way more relaxing!

We have stayed at Riverside and also Coronado Springs. We LOVED them both. We have walked around French quarter and honestly it feels much more cheap "motel-ish" to me, just due to the layout (stacked buildings, lack of landscaping, etc.). and at POFQ I think the rooms are By far the ugliest. Just personal taste, although it's a small resort with less walking which can be a plus, and I would consider it for that reason only, especially if traveling with a younger child. Also POFQ also doesn't have their own table service restaurant, food court only.

Riverside is probably our favorite hotel we have stayed at, in all of Disney. Even over the deluxes. The theming is beautiful, and even though we had a car, I made my husband walk to the food court in the morning for breakfast instead of driving because it's gorgeous. We loved the food court, and the restaurant Boatwrights is really cozy and has amazing food. We really got good use out of the boats that take you to downtown disney as well, if you like to eat or explore there. It was just a wonderful experience there. All of the storage and beds at the moderates are pretty much the same.

Coronado was great as well. The pool there is really nice. The resort seemed very quiet, and it's also beautiful. And definitely more like an exotic getaway theming. There were also two restaurants on that property that we liked a lot, in addition to the food court. I would describe the theming as more adult-ish. Don't overlook CSR for sure. There are a lot of people on these boards who haven't stayed there, but it seems to be geared more towards adults and is a convention hotel.

We haven't stayed at Caribbean Beach but would not due to the construction going on for the foreseeable future.

I think we will try the Port Orleans Riverside - request a Mansion
and near the bus stop.
CSR was ok - but the Rancho's were too far from the restaurants

I’m at CSR right now and I have to say the construction is not intrusive but more there than I thought it would be. Not near what CBR is reported to be though. It’s just a lot going on in the lake as well as the tower right now. I do like it, but would return to POFQ if we did moderate again in the future. I really like the cozy size of it and the river is close to every part of it. The one bus stop is a big advantage too.
