My DH surprised me with 4 extra nights at WDW after our 7 night cruise in July!! :bounce: :bounce:

What is the best way to get from......

1. MCO to hotel at port

2. Port back to WDW resort

3. Resort back to MCO

Before we made reservations to extend our stay, we planned on using a town car service between the port and airport. I have seen DCL busses when vacationing at WDW. Are these for anyone to use? Would a rental car be best (lots of days wasted)???

Thanks,
Karen

We always rent a car. We have used Avis since they have a drop near the port where they can shuttle you each way. It ends up being cheaper with our famly of 4 and it gives us the added flexibility of going other places that we choose.

We always use a towncar service. It's nice to just sit back and relax and let someone else deal with traffic and figuring out where they're going! If you contact several car services they could give you a quote. We always use Cartier Towncar. Good luck...you're sooo lucky!! What a sweet DH you have!!!

MCO to hotel at port has to be private limo. Port to WDW and WDW to MCO can be private limo, rental car, or DCL bus. You'll need to price a rental car. The "break even" point on private limo vs. DCL bus is 3 people. Fewer than 3, DCL is cheaper. 3 or more adults, private limo is cheaper.

I don't find a need for a car at WDW. We had one once, and used it one time in a week. Now, if I drive from home, I use it rarely. If I don't have one, I use the WDW bus transportation.

We are doing the opposite of you...MCO to WDW, WDW to the Radisson then port to MCO. We decided on Happy Limo. Although we could do Mears/DCL busses for cheaper, we want to do things on our schedule, not someone elses. Happy Limo was cheaper than renting a car for the full trip, and much less hassle than picking up and dropping off rental cars. I am a "planner" so I called them this week (a full 9 months ahead!) just to get a quote, but I ended up making a reservation (they take reservations up to a year ahead for those "planner types" like me!)

Give them a call and don't forget to check out www.castawayclub.com for a coupon!

I got an AVIS Full size car from MCO to be dropped off at Port Canaveral the next day for $32.39 plus taxes.

On the return, I pick up a full size at port canaveral after the cruise and drop it off at MCO for $52.19 plus taxes.

Since we have 6 people its cheaper than the DCL transfer and I have the car to do things before and after the cruise.
