Best MK ride to watch fireworks from

My fastpass day is approaching, and we are doing MK at night on our second day, so I'll be selecting a 8pm, 9pm and 10pm attraction (give or take). My kids don't like to stop for parades or fireworks, so I was thinking of selecting a ride with a good vantage point for fireworks, either from the line, or from the ride itself. Any ideas?

You only get to see them for a few seconds, but cresting the top of the final drop on Splash as the fireworks are going off is awesome!!!

I've never paid attention to it actually, but is Astro Orbiter still open during fireworks?

I've been on most rides during the fireworks, but planning to be on the right portion of any ride during the fireworks is another matter entirely.

IF we have several MK nights, then yes, we've chanced it many times. We see the fireworks one night, and take advantage of shorter liens on other nights.

If you've only got ONE MK night, I truly can't advise trying to see them from a ride. A much better option is just to see them from - more or less- where ever you happen to be when they go off. There are a number of spots around the parks where you can stand and see most of the fireworks.

Further, it was easy to see Wishes from almost any angle, and still get the gist. I have to advise though that the new show relies much more on projections that are projected onto the front side of the castle. I don't know why Disney thought it was a good idea to do it the way they did. If you can't see the front of the castle, you now miss much (more) of the new show.

The show only lasts a few minutes. We are the kind of folks who do not stake out parade or fireworks spots long before the show starts, so I get that. That said, WDW = waiting in lines all day. Standing still for 15mintues isn't much of your day.

If I still haven't convinced you, then my favorite is option is probably the flying carpets or Astro Orbiter. Other options are BTMRR and Splash, but you'll only get a fleeting view on any of them. I've never tried from Dumbo's new location, but that might also be an option. With most of these rides though - even if you manage optimal timing- you are also guaranteed to ALSO miss MOST of the fireworks. Most of Splash, for example, is indoors.

Pretty much every line is covered (for FL sun and rain) so it’s tough getting any view while you are in a line...you mostly anxiously hoping you will be on one of the open air rides while you hear fireworks going off.

Thank you for all your advice, it is only the first of 3 nights at MK, and it happens to be on Dec 30th, so movement around the park is extremely limited, plus from past experiences CM's won't let you stop anywhere near a walkway on 10+ crowd levels. We will be there for the late NYE fireworks, I don't know if there are projections with this show, but that is a good point.

You don't want to miss those fireworks on 12/30! I don't think you really need a great view of the castle but they are best experienced in the hub area as they are exploding all around you! It is pretty cool.

On one hand, it has made the show much more enjoyable (for me), but DANG, it's so much harder to see it now with many more guests in the hub. If they had just upgraded 'Once Upon a Time', that would have made sense - the latter show now pales when compared to 'Happily Ever After'. (I don't bother watching the fireworks, I just watch the projection part.)

Splash is one of my faves as well for fireworks. Yes Astro orbiter is open and also a fun spot to watch from

I had such a DISNEY experience by riding 7DMT during (sniff...) Wishes. I didn't plan it, but it was absolutely amazing. A moment to remember!

This was for Wishes---->We've done it while riding Aladdin--and we were the only ones on it so the cm let us just keep going--it was beautiful!----another good one was Tomorrowland Speedway.

Thunder mountain railroad!!! We’ve done it two years in a row and it is fantastic!

You'll definitely want to grab a spot for the fireworks around 7 and then the midnight ones
