I don't know if this has been mentioned already but as you're going down Main Street towards the Castle. Stop and turn down one of the alleys on your right. Look for the window that says something about Voice Lessons and Dance Lessons...listen real close-you can hear "someone" having a lesson!

When you get off BTMRR, look for the hidden Tinkerbell in the rock. She'll be on your left as you exit if you're on the far side.

My best tip is that you are allowed to bring strollers into the character meeting area in Epcot. If your dcs are still young enough to nap, you can stand in line for an hour while everyone is sleeping and when they wake up, they will be standing in front of Mickey and be able to meet all of the fab 5 at once.

a resturant to avoid for us would be coral reef, in epcot, many bad reviews about people being ill.

Great resturants we love are Boma in AKL, Tony's Toon Square in MK and Le Cellier in Epcot are superb places.

I see that you included riding the back of the train with the conductor. But did anyone share yet that the child who gets to announce 'All Aboard' may receive an honorary conductor card?

And not exactly IN the MK, but worth adding - guests can ask the CMs attending the monorail stations to ride up front with the driver. Kids then get a card for being an assistant monorail driver.

We were there in August 2009, there was NO line for the monorail and as it pulled in I saw the front was empty. I asked the CM there if we could ride in the front and he said "we don't do that anymore for security reasons."

Guess he lied?

I think they stopped allowing guests to ride in the from of the monorails after the crash last year where the driver died. I remember people posting that this had changed. When we were there last August, our request was also turned down.

When I originally posted about riding up front in monorail it was May. Then there was the unfortunate accident in July where a driver was killed. So the CM you spoke with was truthfull - they do not allow the upfront rides any longer.


Part of the problems with older threads is that things do change since posted.

This gave some great information. I was wondering, though, if the other parks like MK have great photo spots like DHS has (Singing in the Rain Umbrella, suitcases on Route 66)? You know, a great place to take a posed photo not just a 'this is us standing in front of the Castle photo' (though we will want those types of photos too).

We always try to get there as early as to rope drop as possible. Then we head to the slow loading rides as their wait will just build over the day, like Dumbo and Peter Pan. Then we head out to the more popular rides, like the Mountains and then start panning back from there!

One MK tip...
If you have the time to spare in your touring plan, start one day off at MK by stopping for breakfast at Main Street Bakery right after rope drop. The cinnamon rolls, quiche, and fresh fruit are very good selections. Take your food to the patio tables outside of Casey's. No one else will be there. Enjoy breakfast as you watch the MS singers do the first trolley show of the day. It's a great place to people watch as guests pour into MK.

Warning: You have to have a very laid back mindset to try this. You can't even think about how many people are getting in line ahead of you while you're just relaxing.
