I will be traveling with a 4 1/2 year old and a 3 year old and have a day that I'd like to spend seeing some of Epcot and Hollywood Studios. We'll eat lunch at whichever park we do first... Sooooooooooooooo, which park would you do first and where would you eat?? Something fun that the kids will enjoy.

I was considering Coral Reef... bad choice?

helpmeplease

For kids that young I don't think Coral Reef is your best choice. I would pick the sci-fi dine in theatre at the Studios. You sit in a car and watch old movies on a large screen. I bet your kids would enjoy it.

Good luck with whatever you choose.

You're the second person to suggest Sci Fi:thumbsup2 . My only concern was that the wierd movies would sit wrong with my kids. Am I over thinking this? They have very active imaginations and swear they see monsters everywhere. Does that change that rec?

You know your kids better than anyone else. I haven't been to either of them but with the free dining in September I will be trying both out with my 4 yr old niece.

The coral reef has the big fish tank and Sci-Fi has the car and movie clips.

We love 50's Prime Time. The atmosphere is fun and you can get regular food. They also have crayons and paper for the little one's to keep them busy. Si-Fi is a little dark and loud.

We had very bad luck at the Hollywood and Vine before, but we haven't been with the new characters so it could be great for kids your kids age. What about the Garden Grill in Epcot? It is a lunch/dinner with Mickey and Chip and Dale maybe? The restaurant moves around.Coral Reef may be too much for that age and my kids didn't like at all the SciFi. They definitely didn't get the movies (nor did we) Food was just ok. Actually nothing at DHS ever thrilled us except the pizza is a good deal at the pizza planet place.

Good luck choosing!

You didn't mention if you were looking for a TS or a CS, so here's my thoughts on both ;)

TS
Epcot: Garden Grill (Chip and Dale!) or Coral Reef
HS: Sci-fi (big fan) or 50's Prime Time (my son hates this place though because he's very shy and doesn't like it when the waitstaff calls attention to him, so we don't go there anymore)

CS
Epcot: Sunshine Seasons (something for everyone!)
HS: Pizza Planet

Have a great trip!!:goodvibes

PS I would go to Epcot first. HS doesn't have a whole lot for small ones!

Forgot to mention you can get personalized menus at the Coral Reef. You might be able to get a diver to hold up a banner, if they have a diver available that day. These are free!

My kids love the Sci-Fi theater! The food is OK, but the atmosphere is great!! Old sci-fi movies and lunch in a car is soo much fun! They have great milk shakes. Be sure to make an ADR though so you can eat in a car! Also, it is usually difficult to get in without an ADR.

I'm with krisk on the Sci-Fi theater. Not the best food, but the best atmosphere!

I would vote for the Sci Fi Diner. We just got back and did both Coral Reef and the Diner and enjoyed Sci Fi much more. Coral Reef trys to be an upscale dining experience but, in our opinion, did not pull it off very well. The novelty of sitting in cars and the fun atmosphere of Sci Fi were great. My girls 4 and 6 did not "get" the movies but were entertained none the less. The "scary" movies are goofy, not gory. We could not stop giggling over the movie with the dude in the gumby looking outfit who was supposed to be an "attacking moon rock" !! :lmao:

This is by far my hardest dining decision! :rotfl2: I got ADRs for both Coral Reef and Sci Fi. I promise I'll decide ASAP which one to use and release the other one ;) THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!!

I would stick w/ Sci-Fi. Our DD also has a very active imagination. The clips are not that bad. I can't remember one that scared her. And she's been going there since she was 1. It's a great place to relax and have fun. I don't think you will be disappointed.

I would do a character meal, Garden Grill, Princess meal in Norway or the H&V Character meal or is that only at breakfast?

We are doing CRT and Chef Mickey's, and to be honest, the only other character meal that really excites me is Crystal Palace, but I don't want to go back to MK that day just to eat!

Drinking a milkshake in a car while watching anything on a big screen would be my son's idea of heaven. I bet he'd even sit still and be quiet.:lmao: That's sounding kind of appealing!

We went with a 3 and 5 yr old in December. Hands down, one of their favourite meals was Hollywood and Vine for lunch. They loved the characters and getting up to dance with them was a huge hit.

I just had my 5 and 3 year old there in May for lunch and they loved Hollywood and Vine too :) I was neverous about it since it has gotten some bad reviews here but the food was great--not your typical buffet food--and they loved meeting Jo Jo, Golith, June and Leo.
