since it's time to make ps and i have yet to decide, would like suggestions for sit down lunch choices ( eat our large meal at lunch so not sandwiches) around Mk..Kona and gfcafe basically only offer sandwiches at lunch...don't care for tony's or buffets, although haven't been to CP for ages, not impressed with CRT last time we went there ( long ago)...considering concourse, ltt or any place i am overlooking??? if possible will use a vkl voucher but if not, not that big a deal. Thanks for any suggestions

Why don't you just visit DEB'S SITE and check out all the menus from around the MK and decide for yourself what best fits your needs. It's how I made all of the choices for hubby and I on our trip in 2001 and how I'm making our choices again for 2006. We will be visiting some old favorites and trying out some new ones. Any other questions, just let me know.

I would like to suggest Liberty Tree Tavern. We eat there for lunch almost every trip. DH and DD love the turkey and dressing. I love the burger, which is very good if you do want a sandwich.

we love the Concourse...but don't entirely dismiss the CP...the food was some of the best we had on our last trip...I don't know if Narcoosees is still open for lunch but their food is excellant too...also, don't forget about the rest.'s at the WL...just a short boat ride from the MK...

Is the turkey and dressing at LTT REAL turkey or is it that sliced look alike stuff? Is the dressing real corn bread dressing or stove top? Thanks

Inside the Magic Kingdom:
Dined at Crystal Palace twice on my last trip (lunch & dinner) and was very pleased with the quality and selection of food.

Liberty Tree Tavern is also not a bad place for lunch.

I found the food at the Plaza Restaurant & Tony's just so-so and would not really go running back there anyime soon.

Outside the Magic Kingdom:
The Concourse is not a bad place for lunch. Nice selection.

Whispering Canyon Cafe is a great place to dine, especially at lunch time. Get a PS right at noon during the week (which is when they start serving). I found it to be less crowded.

I was not thrilled with the Kona in 2002. Tried it for breakfast & dinner and was disappointed both times.

thanks i have but do know sometimes what sounds good,,so i was hopeing for some viewpoints to help sway me:) !
i know i am being a real pain and overly pickey.....
but
we are going to wc for breakfast another day so kind of wanted to eat either in park or monorail

I had thought ltt ( ate there once long ago and basically remember nothing about it, donot know if that's a good thing or not)and also wondered if the turkey is real or fake ( any everybody loves raymond fans? thinking "tofu turkey" :) ) we usually don't eat sit down at Mk cause i can never decide where to go due to past horrific experiences( fried spider( my biggest phobia btw are spiders so this was awful to me,,,)in my food at CP, barf-fest at tonys,$$$$ counter service quality at CRT... you get the picture) but since these were a while ago am willing to cautiously try again but hopefully with better results so i am begging for opinions!

We had a wonderful peaceful lunch at LTT last time. We love
CP too but its not too peaceful with pooh and his friends.
We had dinner at LTT serveral years ago and I was not too
impressed, but we tried it again this time for lunch last December
and it was wonderful. Its on my list again for this year.

Have always wanted to try LTT. Ate lunch there last week and was disappointed. Roast beef sandwich sounded good on the menu but was among the worst/most blah I've ever eaten. Salad was ho hum. Service ok. Dessert was excellent - chocolate mudd cake with vanilla ice cream. Don't know if the meals were better than the sandwiches. Won't go there again :( except maybe for mudd cake and coffee.

We had a good lunch experience at CRT (castle) a couple years ago. Food was good (but not outstanding) and reasonable priced, and service was excellent -- and not just at our table. To top it off, we got a window table without even asking! I think CRT is underrated as a lunch spot.

A vote for the turkey at LTT:cool: Huge amounts of all white meat and yes it is real turkey:) It was much more than I could eat and the price was very reasonable.:D

I ate a late lunch, which is not a character meal;) thus I was able to relax and enjoy my meal. As I recall there is an hour between the end of the lunch and the character dinner. We didn't know that at the time and wondered why we were the only ones left in the restaurant. Our CM told us about the "closed hour" but he said relax and enjoy your meal. After we finished he sat down and chatted with us while we drank more coffee.:D

I love the pot roast at LTT at lunch time. My husband loves the turkey dinner. It's real turkey, not the pressed loaf garbage.
