I have read sooo many conflicting reports on the food at San Angel, so I know this meal is a gamble.
We just love the ambiance of this place & have never eaten there. Since there's really no place (at least where we live!) that offers that kind of ambiance, we are going with that factor, & taking our chances on the food, knowing full well, it may not be great.
Still...can anyone make any suggestions? For adults & kids. I'd really appreciate it! Thanks! :thumbsup2

I'm gonna take a gamble on it also, next month trip.
From reading the reviews from the last few months it seems that the new
menu is getting better (more positive reviews).
I'm looking forward to eating there--I'm wanted to order the Grilled Mahi-Mahi
fillets served with flour tortillas with green peppers, onions ect. (hoping it's good). We go end of next month and I will add my review then. I think it's worth trying all the restaurants and deciding if you like it for yourself.

We always dine at San Angel and have always had a great meal. My oldest DS always picks San Angel as his choice of meals. We do prefer the lunch over dinner. I always get the same thing for lunch because, hey - I know it works for me!

Sopa Azteca and Tostados de Tinga which is an appetizer. This is plenty of food for me. I have to get the soup, it is awesome and I can't eat a full size meal after the soup!

My DH and 2 DS (18 and 20) always get the same thing too - some kind of steak with rice and beans. I can't remember what it is called.

San Angel is always a must do for us. I know it hasn't received great reviews but we have always been very pleased!

I really liked the fish tacos and I love the Sopa Azteca. Best margaritas (not frozen) at WdW.

Are the margaritas at San Angel the same quality and price as the ones at La Cava del Tequila?

I dont remember what I got for an entree..but Im sure it was good! I do however, clearly remember the Bread Pudding dessert..MMMMmmmmm

Yes.

You can also buy one at La Cava and carry it to the restaurant with you.

Well, it's nice to be seeing some positive feedback on San Angel. I did have a hard time deciding on it when I made my ADR's, but like I said....we wanted to experience the atmosphere. We just figured if the food wasn't very good, we'd eat again later somewhere else...no big deal. It is encouraging though, to see all these posts where people liked it! Yay!

I had some delicious chicken enchiladas there last October:thumbsup2.
