Best loop for tent camping?

I'm considering our first camping trip to WDW. We just bought a bunch of camping equipt for a scouting trip and would like to change the flavor of our WDW trips and enjoy fort wilderness as well as the parks.

I don't know that we are going to rent a golf cart, so I would love suggestions for both with and without a golf cart. Our kids are 8 and 5.

2 favorite tenting loops re 1500 and 2000. 1500 is close by everything so would be a good choice with out a golf cart. 2000 is more secluded and would be easier with a golf cart. Happy Camping.

Thanks! I'll make a ressie requesting 1500. Would like to avoid the expense of a golf cart if possible.

Just a warning on 1500. That loop tends to have smaller sites, so if you have a big setup with a large tent and a screenroom, you might not fit. Especially site 1506.

I'm not saying 1500 is an absolute no no for tent campers, but be sure and tell them what size your tent and screen room is, so they can assign you a site that will accomodate your stuff.

We just returned from our first FW camping trip. We stayed in the 2000 loop - if you stay there - DO NOT GET A SITE BY THE ROAD!

All night long buses, cars, engine noise and lots of headlights. We hardly got any sleep. We were a few sites away from the bus stop, and I will never stay there again. Headlights lit up our tent every minute, and the noise was awful.

Buses were slow to arrive, so we walked to the Meadows Pool area for swimming, s'mores, etc., and then took the bus back.

Next time we will stay in the 1500 loop so we can walk to the Meadows area, or only stay next to the canal by the 2000 loop.

The carts are $49 per day plus taxes. You pick them up at 1 p.m. and they are due back the next day at 11 a.m. - that is a "one day" rental.

If you have bikes and can bring them - do so!

I'd really prefer not to rent a cart, but if I get the 2000 loop, I'll probably want one. Hopefully we can bring our bikes on the front of the van for some extra fun.

We do have a large tent, 17X10, and a screen room, 15X13, but we're going to position the screen room almost on top of the tent so that we have a vestibule area protected from rain, so they'll overlap. Other than that, we don't require any significant room. Hopefully we'll be okay with a smaller site. If not, we'll ask to move.
