Best lock system for tt

Buying a used tt and would like to know what everybody is using to keep the tt secure when not being towed ? Thanks everyone for your help !

I don't lock my hitch, just secure the TT itself. I don't think it's very likely that they will steal the whole trailer, they are more likely to break in and steal things out of it.

I take the TV/DVD out of the TT when it goes to the storage lot. Not much left that they'd want to steal. When it goes for the winter the battery, and maybe the gas bottles, come off as well.

I know people that take the license plate off when they store it, some of them put a placard in its place that says "Stolen" but even that won't stop them from taking it.

If they want to take the whole TT, well, that's why I pay insurance premiums.

My trailer is to heavy to be towed by most trucks so I really don't worry about it. Plus I can see our trailer from our bedroom. But I have been wanting to get a lock for my 20' lowboy trailer.

Most TT that are stolen are used for Meth labs. They are towed out in the woods or desert and used then burned. The electronic are then sold.

I picked up a Reese system at Wally World a while ago. There is a locking pin for the hitch, a padlock that I use in place of a cotter pin on the latch for the ball, and a ball lock apparatus similar to the link medic had above and they are all keyed alike. I think it was about 30 bucks. I mainly use the pin in the hitch and the padlock for the latch. I do throw the ball lock thingy on when it is parked in the driveway for a long period of time and I am going away, only because my idiot neighbors wouldn't bother calling the cops if someone were trying to steal my trailer.

Well, at home mine is in a locked garage, behind a locked gate, so that's how I secure it at home.

However, in a campground, since mine is so small. it could technically be picked up by 4 or 5 folks and loaded on a flatbed and gone in about 30 seconds, so I do have a long cable with a padlock that I lock it to a tree with through the tires. I generally don't bother at Disney, but at other campgrounds where things are spaced out a bit further and there are not as many folks around.

My hitch bar is locked to my truck and the T@B has a built-in lock that locks the T@B to the ball.

We had some friends who were regulars and stored their TT at the CG. Went out one weekend "NO TRAILER" , never did find it.
