Hi All! New to Disney cruising here. We are booked on the Fantasy November 2015! Very excited. There will be 27 of us in 7 cabins. My dad called today and said he wants to upgrade us all to the Family Balcony rooms. I am looking for advice on where the best block of those rooms might be. Best views of ports, fireworks, etc. Also just where the best location on the ship is. Thanks for any advice!

I would avoid deck 10 as you may hear noise from pool deck. Also there is a large overhang that not all sailors are pleased with. Also not all the veranda partitions are able to open on deck 10.

We would chose deck 8 to be below that overhang, but 9 may be adequate, and is very convenient to food/pool deck.

We would choose the cat 4's more aft, for the use of the less crowded aft elevators and easier access to buffet, ice cream, and pool deck. ;)

Starboard, better views of Castaway Cay, fireworks, sailaway, etc.

These may help; http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2586763&highlight=dream+special

HTH and Enjoy

Thank you so much for your reply! That sounds like great advice! I will pass it along to my dad. Appreciate the help! :thumbsup2

You will not see or get a good view of fireworks , all rooms are ice, we had top deck rooms and no noise. It's a great ship, starboard gets the. View of castaway. Midship is best lower decks get vibration on the fantasy

We too sail November 2015, I agree with Bear. The starboard side is our favorite. With this being your first cruise you many want to try more mid ship than aft. I have very little motion issues but do feel the ship moving more when I sit/lay in the front or back of the ship. You just never know with a group your size who could have issues.

We were on deck 8 last cruise, moved to deck 7 this time to get our three requested rooms next to each other. Loved deck 8.

Try to look at a map and make sure you are not near a stairwell, laundry...due to noise.

Keep gathering information, every little bit helps.

I'd also recommend starboard side (right when looking forward) so you have a view of Castaway Cay when the ship backs in.

I agree with aft recommendation if you have a lot of kids in the party. Otherwise, adults may prefer more forward since it would be closer to all adult areas of the ship.

Thanks everyone for the great advice! These 3 blocks seems to be available in what we need (a combo of Family balcony and regular balcony) Any insight?

We just sailed two weeks ago and we had cabin 9630. I loved the location! Easy access to aft stairs and elevators, only two flights up to cabanas. I found that location very quiet as well.

We had 7586 2 weeks ago & loved the location so much we booked that same cabin for our next cruise. It is mid-ship (I need for less motion) & about 5 down from the mid-ship elevators. Right side of the ship. It was non-connecting & at the end of a life boat so you could see down to deck 4.

We have found you cannot really be sure whether you will face a port because you don't always know if they will pull in straight or back in. We were in almost the exact same location on the Dream last year but on left side but faced the port at Port Canaveral both times. We had great views of Castaway Cay on both trips & our view pulling into Falmouth, Jamaica could not have been better.
