I am a total newbie to the FP+ system,( vet of legacy.) I am about 2 weeks out from our 60 day window and I am reading all I can to help my planning go smooth as possible. What were some of the best tips/tweeks that people have learned to utilize within the MDE/fp system.

What should I never do?

What are some common mistakes?

Any Tips from other Disers in general on booking with FP+?

For our trip we will try for A&E and 7dmt if that matters at all.

Thanks for any tips!:tink:

The best tip is to never Cancel - only Modify FPs.

I can tell you from recent experience that there IS a time when choosing "CANCEL" is the correct procedure.

Two words: "Park Hopping."

You can Modify > Replace to change FPs to a different park.

I didn't know that. So on the 4th fp, I can get one at a kiosk and then modify it for another park? Could you do that with sdfp?
I haven't tried Modify > Replace for a 4th FP or SDFP. The process may only apply to the initial 3 because a ticket entitlement is involved which allows access for FP in any park.

Was it one if your first 3 or your 4th that you did this with? Thanks!

Interesting. I figured with the sdfp, but a 4th hop might help. Thanks!

Try to book your FP during busier times of the day (10 am - 4 pm). If you get to the parks as soon as they open, most rides, depending on what time of the year, have relatively short waits < 30 minutes. I try to ride a more popular ride first thing, then save my three fast passes for rides that I know will be busy during the day.

BUT, Canceling before your trip arrives is a lesson in frustration. Just don't do it.

I know this is pretty far out in left field, but one of the worst things about FP+ for me is when I book my passes all right in a row. I enjoy the thrill of going on three rides very quickly, then I am left standing around wondering what to do next. I really enjoyed the pace of legacy FP with the 2 hour waits in between rides. I liked finding simple things to do to fill the time. But now, I book them in advance, hit them all in less than an hour and then wait for the evening show.

This is one of the reasons I hop so much now. If I hit one park at open and enjoy the low crowds, then hop to another park and enjoy my 3 FP+ exhilarama, then go to a third park for dinner and firewoks - I feel like I've gotten my money's worth! My kids are okay this game with me, not so much my DW or older friends. :)

Pay attention to where you are making FPs. If you're focused mostly on getting the headliners as early as possible, you can have yourself criss crossing the park. If you make the FPs as you plan to walk (or in line with your TP) you can work in nearby attractions between them as you go.

When you are booking them, choose the time option that is furthest away from what you really want. Then adjust the times to fit your schedule.

This seems to happen automatically when I book them :joker:

So to add to that tip, don't worry if when you select your FPs it gives you them at undesirable times. Book them anyways, then switch the times to what you want.

It gives you MULTIPLE OPTIONS for the clusters of times when you initially book FP+ in advance.

And sometimes all of those multiple options are undesirable. One MK day as I booked my FPs, all 3 sets of options it gave me had all times starting after 2pm, but I like to start them around 10am. I booked one of the suggested sets and then was able to move them all earlier.

I agree, but nobody seemed to mention the multiple options that you are automatically offered.
That might be missed or misunderstood by guests new to the experience.

Since you want both 7DMT and A&E, I'd advise staying up till midnight (Eastern time) when your 60-day window opens, and schedule FP+ for your Magic Kingdom day(s) first.

As others have said you'll be offered four time schedules (Option A,B,C,D) for the three FP+ attractions you have chosen. As PPs have mentioned, if you select the Option that is farthest away in time from the times that you actually want, this will give you the most flexibility in tweaking the time schedule.

What I do is get the three FP+ I want for each park day, and then go back and change the time for each attraction to the ideal time slot for it.
