We're driving down from the SF bay area this weekend, and thought it would be a good idea to know in advance where to tune for traffic and news updates. Opinions? Thanks!
Do you have a regular radio or an XM one? XM station 233 has up to the minute traffic and weather.
IMO - the FM stations aren't very useful for traffic and news. Maybe the NPR stations on the FM - KCRW 89.9, I think. AM is usually better, but I'm not on top of that, as I have an XM radio.
There are 2 stations that are excellent for traffic in the area.
KFWB News 980 AM - Traffic every 9 minutes "Traffic on the ones" as they say on-air.
KNX 1070 AM - Traffic very often.
Of course there are many FM stations that give traffic reports every 30 minutes or so, but the 2 above are where we switch over to whenever there is a back up and we want to know why.
