Well we are having a Disney wedding and then going on the cruise for our honeymoon. And weddings are quite expensive as you probably know. You tend to get nickled and dimed to death. Which is what is hapenning to us. So every penny counts right now for us. So that is why I asked if this is worth the money at this point.

You will save the cost of the book, especially if you book excursions on your own (which there are plenty of informatioin sources therein).

Here is where you save money acquiring the book:

I already have the 2004 passporter. We're cruising in May 2005 - does anyone know if it is worth buying the 2005 edition, or are there only minimal updates?

what new info or "secrets" does this Passporter reveal that a regular Disboarder doesnt know?....Just curious....

These boards are great, however they are not a guidebook. A significant majority of posts are opinions and discussion (like my is post now).

A guidebook generally contains more substantive content and factual information in a significantly compressed edition over the tens of thousands of posts you would have to read here.

A "taste" of the book can be gleened from a work produced by one of the contributing authors posted here:

http://www.allearsnet.com/cruise/mdcg.pdf

So, consider what you read above, add pictures, charts, maps, and diagrams - then add an additional 180 pages of new content (268 pages total for the 2004 edition) and you have a pretty good idea what the Passporter book is like. You would have to read an awfull lot of posts to get the same informative coverage.

But in defense of the boards, there is information that appears here not in the book.

My $0.02

Come on guys
as I said before it is the best reading you will ever do even if you are not Cruising.
Go to the

passporter page
and get a taste of what is in the book,.
There is samples of the book there and a little feel for it.
If all else fails go to Barnes and Noble and check it out.
Try your local library too.
The money you will save is really worth the cost of the book.
As for everyone else who does not want to buy the book and think it is a waste---- guess what ??
You can just sit and wonder as the Passporter Group who did so much hard work does not need to share with anyone who does not pay.
plagiarism is not going to be a part of this post.
Go sample it for yourself.

JUST check out the Passporter book :listen:BEST READING
