Best Italian?

We are going to Disney for five nights and our last day we plan to go to Hollywood studios .. we have been before and I don't see a ton of things that interest us there .. so originally we made a reservation for Raglan Road in Disney springs that evening .. but now I'm reading really mixed reviews .. we don't have any Italian restaurants on our menu for vacation so I was thinking maybe of trying one . We have the hopper pass so it could be anywhere but I'm wondering what your favorite Italian restaurant is ???

In my limited tastings, I'd say Il Mulino at the Swan/Dolphin. We tried Tuto Italia last trip, and while it was good, it wasn't nearly good enough to justify the price to me.

For what it's worth, I generally hear really good things about Raglan Road (realize you are going into a wild, loud atmosphere).

If you are going to be in DHS, Mama Melrose is yummy. You can also take the boat to Epcot/Boardwalk for Via Napoli, Tutto Italia, Trattoria al Forno, or Il Mulino.

The Pizza in Via Napoli is fantastic, we have always enjoyed Mama Melrose. Just not Tony's Town Square! The food was only OK and the service was the worst I have ever experienced anywhere at Disney

I can't recommend Trattoria al Forno at the Boardwalk enough! I'm not a huge fan of getting Italian food out, so I was skeptical when my wife booked it, but this place was one of the highlights of our trip this year. We ended up sharing our entrees because neither of us could decide what we wanted. The kids (on the adult menu) got the pizza, and that was great as well. Also some wonderful desserts. Il Mulino. Excellent variety (including small plates), above average wine list, superb service. Easy to get there from DHS. Il Mulino.

Italian is my favorite cuisine and we have been to just about every Disney restaurant they have in Italian:

1. Tutto and Via Napoli are very close in quality, with Tutto being slightly more expensive. Via Napoli has the BEST Eggplant Parm I've had, but their service is very spotty. Tutto always is a great meal, albeit a little on the expensive side.

2. Portobello: Doesn't get alot of talk on here, but we loved it. Best red sauce on property.

3. Trattoria: Pretty good food, excellent service, and decently priced. Cured meat appetizer was excellent.

4. Il Mulino: Been twice and just don't see the allure of this place. Decent food, but not worth the price. Chicken Parm I had last trip was overcooked, and tough. Sauce is nothing special at all--typical marinara.

While I know it is not Disney, we really liked Mama Della's at Portifino Bay in Uni.

This past August we went to Trattoria al Forno and it was one of our best meals the entire trip. The food was great and the service was even better. This is a place that I look forward to going back to again.

While Il Mulino is very good (but also pricey), I have to agree with the other posters in being very pleasantly surprised how good Trattoria al Forno was on the Boardwalk. Good Italian food at good price, esp. at WDW.

Via Napoli is good for the pizza, but if you want an Italian pasta/meat meal, go to Trattoria.

We have an ADR there the day after Thanksgiving (11/25) - at my family's request!

Some may argue but we LOVE Mama Melrose at DHS. We eat there almost every visit.

I had the chicken parmesan and it was really delicious (as was the cheesecake)! DH had a steak and also thought it was very good.

I have had the minestrone soup, calamari, my husband gets a steak dish that he LOVES. I get the penne alla vodka - all delish! My kids enjoy all the menu options for them as well.

If you are into small plates and meats and cheeses, give Tutto Gusto a try! DW and I love to sit and graze on the selection of meats and cheeses and enjoy a wine flight or two. They have pasta and other options as well.

As PP's have stated.....Anywhere but ---> TONY's...

Our personal fav.(meal that is) is Tutto Italia. If we do VN it's strictly for the pizza, and Trattoria al forno was pretty good too.

I cast my vote for Mama Melrose. Good menu options. Wait service is excellent and prices are reasonable (by Disney standards).

If you want authentic Italian, I would personally not recommend Mama Melrose. I would stick with Via Napoli, and I've heard good things about Il Mulino. Normally I would also recommend Tutto Italia ... but I just can't justify the price. The food was good, just too pricey for value --- and I generally don't shy away due to price. We did two dinners at Cali Grill on our last trip.

Will definitely have to try Forno on the Boardwalk when we go there next time. Saw it -- didn't plan for it / so it wasn't on the agenda -- looked good (for what that's worth / based on the posted menu it looked good/authentic) .
