Best Italian?

Palio and Portobello YC are our fav's. Funny, due to the convenience factor, we probably eat at Tony's the most although it ranks pretty low with us. MM is the only place in WDW I've been able to find my favorite italian dish, penne a la vodka.

It must be dinner time.... NY pizza is the best. I grew up in NY then Chicago and whenever I'm in NY, I have to get a pie. I do prefer Chicago style hotdogs tho. Pat's or Genos cheesesteaks in Philly can not be beat anywhere. I've had meals in nearly every major chinatown in the US and certain dim sum and traditional chinese restaurants NY and SF can each claim top prize without disagreement from me. I love cuban food and Hialeah and Tampa have no peers.

No can do, CW4Disney - this guy needs Gigi and I to FedEx some NY pizzas to him STAT!
HEHE. Gotta have that NY Pizza fix.

And I still haven't even TRIED MM in 5 trips!! What does this say about me???When I splurge for Palio,(on the same trip as Le Bistro - travelling Sans kids), I'll post my mouth-watering reviews from the laptop!!!
I haven't tried MM yet either.
It's on the to do list. I'll post mine after my next trip.

I'm going to try MM with the Fantasmic Package during the free dining promotion; however, my expectations are low.

I lived on Long Island most of my life and worked in Manhattan. One thing I've learned is that there's no such thing as good Italian, Chinese, or Mexican food outside of NY. People who have never lived in NY have given me pointers on the "must try" restaurants for great pizza and Italian food. Most are borderline inedible, but it tastes good to the these people since they have no basis for comparison.

Having been to Italy myself, and eaten many meals there, I think I have a basis for comparison. I liked Alfredo's--what was it that everyone didn't like? But we have only been once, and for this trip we are trying to decide between MM and Alfredo's for our MGM Fantasmic night (MM would be more convenient, of course, but I did enjoy Alfredo's).

And I HIGHLY doubt that NY has better Mexican than Austin and San Antonio! Haven't you heard the Bowling For Soup song? "The Mexican food sucks north of here anyway!"

Can anyone tell me what the Fantasmic Package is, and why it would be good paired with MM? I am trying to get my dining preferences ready to do my ARs. thanks

You can read about the Fantasmic Dinner Package here . Basically, you get to pick Hollywood and Vine, Mama Melrose's, or the Brown Derby, and you get a special, more limited menu (not for H&V though, I am guessing). Then you get a special pass to sit in a reserved seating area for the Fantasmic show. I have heard that you get to pick which show, and that you have to go to the earliest show that night, so if someone knows for sure, please let me know!

I'm trying to decide whether to do the FDP at MM, or just do MM, or go over to Epcot for Alfredo's that night. We have never had a problem getting good seats at Fantasmic, and would rather go to the late show.
