Just wondering if I could get an opinion of the best italian food at WDW? DH says italian would be good one night, but I know him...he isn't into fancy and seems to like only manicotti, lasagna, and mosticolli and meatballs. Can you think of a great italian place? Thanks.

Spoodles and Wolfgang Puck. Also, Portabello's is good too. I would stay away from the park restaurants. They taste like Stouffer's frozen entrees. :teeth:

Spoodles has wonderful fettuccini Alfredo. :thumbsup2

We really enjoy Mama Melrose at MGM, too.

I really disliked Portobello's.

Mama Melrose is okay.

I had steak at Spoodles so I'm no help there.

I've never eaten at WP.

Palio is very good, and has a nice quiet atmosphere.

I personally enjoy the food at Alfredo's more than any other WDW restaurant.

I use to like Tony's, but on my last visit the food was cold and very disappointing.

The best Italian food at WDW is Palio (though it is about to go into rehab so may not be open).

A good second choice would be Portobello Yacht Club at Downtown Disney. It's fantastic. The food is excellent and the service especially so. It also has a great martini menu.

Spoodles isn't an Italian restaurant, precisely, but Italian cusine is one of the cuisines it features. It has, over the years, been one of our favorite dining experiences overall. It's lost a bit since chef Marianne Hummel moved on, but we're still looking forward to going back.

The Italian restaurant at Epcot, Alfredo's, remains the only full-service restaurant we haven't tried, due to consistent, reliable bad reviews we've read, ever since it opened.

Mama Melrose, at D-MGM, has decent food, but service has typically been very poor. There are rumors that it is also going to be rehabbed soon. Let's hope they reimagine something better there.

Tony's, at the Magic Kingdom, is okay. The food is passable, and the service is actually very good. It's pricey, though, and for some reason many people (though not myself) seem to have a problem with the prices, there.

We really enjoyed Portabello in DD. It was fantastic service and fantastic food! A little pricey, though.

Palio at the Swan. Fabulous. One of my favorites.
It's not your red sauced spaghetti Italian. If you want just red sauced pasta, we have had good luck with Alfredo's, despite it's spotty reviews.

I too am a big fan of the typical Italian food.

Mama Melrose is one my favorite restaurants in WDW. We make sure to do it every time. Chicken parm, and penne alla vodka are my favorites.

I recently ate at Alfredos and liked it very much (but prefer MM)

I did enjoy Palio, it was very good, but there wasn't anything "typical" on the menu. I was limited in what I could order as most was a bit funky for me.

Went to Tony's once (got spaghetti and meatballs) and I wont go back.
