My husband and I are doing an adults only trip this May. It will be our first trip to Disney World. What is the best place to have dinner in Epcot?

Note: We have other plans to see Illuminations(spelling?) so we are not worried about trying to eat somewhere with a good view.

I'm a huge fan of Tutto Italia. Great Italian food. My wife did a couple of semesters abroad in Italy, in high school, and has said there are things on the menu that remind her of being there. Also, we discovered Chef de France, last trip. I had a great tenderloin there. And always, we try to get to Le Cellier. It has been getting a bad rap lately, from individual reviews, but we have never had anything but a great meal there. Ideal meal would be *steak of your choice* preceded by the cheddar soup with pretzel bread. And for dessert, I always get the chocolate "moose". You might find something better, that you'd prefer, but I love looking at that little guy on my plate.

Via Napoli has the best pizza ever. Had the quatro formaggi and it was amazing. my BFFs had the spaghetti and meatballs and couldn't stop eating!!

My husband and I went on our first long weekend trip without kids back in April, and ate at LeCellier our first night. We LOVED it.

On that same trip, we ate at Monsieur Paul's and we thought it was just OK.
That is the only restaurant at Disney that I most likely wouldn't return to.

That being said, I don't think you can go wrong with any of the other table service restaurants in Epcot, although Akershus is a character meal, and I have never eaten in China or Japan.

What is the best place to have dinner in Epcot?

Without knowing your food preferences and dining expectations, how could anyone tell you this with any certainty? Everyone is different, as has already been shown on this thread. Most of the restaurants at WDW will have their fans, and probably an equal number of detractors. You might be better served by asking which ones to avoid ( cough CORAL REEF cough)

But for what it's worth ( which isn't much), of the 2 signature restaurants, I like the menu and level of service at M. Paul's much more than Le Cellier. Of the regular a la carte restaurants, Spice Road Table is our current favorite. Of the fixed price buffet/family style restaurants we like Biergarten.

You can find menus for all restaurants at Allears. net. See which ones tickle your taste buds.

Epcot enjoys the reputation of the park with the best and most varied dining in the entire WDW complex. Assuming you are looking for table service, there are very few complete ringers but note that 9 Dragons (China), Le Cellier and Coral Reef are often panned. I've enjoyed Coral Reef for lunch now x2 (past 2 yrs) so just goes to show that guests can have wildly different experiences and tastes. I would 1) look at some updated menus online at allears or the Disney dining website to see what food is on offer & what appeals to your taste 2) decide on a budget/or not 3) find a date & dining time that works best for you. This is going to narrow your choices down considerably. My fav TS restaurants in Epcot (based on my tastes & experience): Chefs de France, Restaurant Marrakesh, San Angel Inn and Coral Reef. Spice Road Table is on the radar for my next trip (that lamb entree looks gorgeous :-)).

Goodness that's akin to asking someone to pick their favorite child.
Darn near impossible.
But some places we have eating at multiple times and not been disappointed. I would not hesitate to suggest any of these to someone

Biergarten
Rose and Crown
Via Napoli

Places we've been once and plan to return
San Angel
Marrakesh
Garden Grill

Places we've been that are one and done for us
Teppan Edo
La Hacienda
Le Cellier

Via Napoli was great when I went! My parents loved the wine so much they ordered cases and cases to our home in PA! We had a great time there!

Have lunch at Les Chefs de France, then come out and go to the Impressions of France movie, then come out of there and go to Boulangerie Patisserie for a pastry and a glass of Champagne. Now doesn't that sound heavenly?

We had a really good steak at Coral Reef. The atmosphere is really nice as well. This place gets mixed reviews, but we had a really good meal on our last two visits there. We will gladly return there again.

I think it really matters what your personal tastes are. I myself cannot pick one restaurant at Epcot that is my favorite. It really comes down to what I'm in the mood for. But here are my thoughts on the restaurants I've been to at Epcot. Without going into long details here is how I would break them down in categories of the ones I have been to.

Excellent:
  • Chef's de France
  • Monsieur Paul (signature)
  • Via Napoli (beyond just the good pizza)
Good:
  • Coral Reef
  • Biergarten
  • Tokyo Dining
  • San Angel Inn
Average:
  • Akershus
  • Le Cellier (Also categorized as the biggest letdown)
  • Teppan Edo ( I should put it in the good category, but it's just like any other hibachi restaurant)
  • Tutto Italia
  • Restaurant Marrakesh
Forget about it:
  • Nine Dragons

Love Via Napoli, and love Chef's de France (though I've only ever been there for lunch) via Napoli's pizza is sooooo good, we have to go every trip.

I'm not a buffet eater, and while I thought the experience at Biergarten was super fun, (loooved the band and even the somewhat communal seating, really does have a festival atmosphere) the food was lackluster in my opinion (my Mom is from Germany, so much of the fare was lesser versions of stuff I grew up on)

Both restaurants in the Mexico pavilion are beautiful, but they both felt expensive for what you get, especially if you have a favorite Mexican restaurant at home. Same for nine dragons. It's Chinese food. Very very expensive average Chinese food.

We have enjoyed yummy food at the following:

Garden Grill (There are characters and it is all you can eat, but they bring it to your table. This is really nice after hitting the parks all day!)
Biergarten (fun atmosphere and yummy food)
Le Cellier (ate there two nights in a row!)
Teppan Edo (super customer service)
Yachtsmans Steakhouse (not in Epcot, but a short walk to the Yacht Club resort, very quiet atmosphere compared to other restaurants)

Happy Planning!

Honestly, I have tried several TS's in the WS & have been more impressed with the quality of food at QS restaurants for the most part. Maybe I have bad luck & went to some on an off day or maybe I am really particular about the quality of the food for the price I pay b/c I am always on a budget.. Anyway, IMO Sunshine Seasons for the salmon entree & strawberry shortcake, Taste Track for an amazing gourmet grilled cheese & tomato soup, Tangierine Cafe, Yorkshire County Fish Shop, bakeries in Norway (club sandwich, heated & school bread) or France for the cheese plate w/1/2 baguette & great desserts. I also really enjoyed the Nudel Gratin on the menu as a side item at Somerfest which I had in between F&G samples one year & that worked out really well for a meal on its own. I find that the atmosphere is never lacking at the WS QS's so I don't feel I'm losing out on much at all. The portions are also more than enough for the average appetite & if you get hungry later, there is no lack of snack options in the park. :)

If you're more into a TS, I've been to Garden Grill a couple of times & really enjoyed the character interactions & the food there was good (recommend the beef & berry cobbler). I've had really good meals (& some average) at Rose & Crown & Spice Road Table & one of the best cooked steaks ever at San Angel Inn. I was underwhelmed by Biergarten, Teppan Edo, Via Napoli & Marrakesh. Still on the list to try are Chefs de France, Le Cellier, Monsieur Paul & Tutto Italia.

Every person will have their own opinion on food though so I recommend looking at the menus online & going by what stands out to you. Enjoy!

If you aren't concerned about seeing Illuminations, I would suggest leaving EP through the International Gateway exit and eating at one of the EP resort restaurants where you will find far superior restaurants than the WS ones.

Our favorites: bluezoo, Kimono's (if you like sushi), Il Mulino, Trattoria al Forno, Flying Fish.

If you really want to eat in WS, I would consider Via Napoli or Spice Road Table.

We have been so disappointed in WS restaurants lately. I think in-park food has just gone way down hill. The resort restaurants' food quality and service are always better.

Honestly, I think anywhere around the world showcase is fine. Garden grill has ok food, imo, but service is awesome! Where you choose to eat all depends on your food preference. Allears.net is the site I use when I need to choose restaurants to eat at ;)

Garden grill was very good when we went last month. We would all (party of 6) do it again in the future. My family's other favorite is sunshine seasons despite the food court seating. It is a can't miss for my son and my dad and honestly the food is as good as table service but faster.
