Just in case we DON'T get a Disney resort (I'm biting my tounge right now) I'd like to know which non-dis resort though II is best for younger kids ages 5 and 7. I saw the one Marriott has a pirate themed pool that looked cool. Any more info out there? Good transportation options and short travel time means A LOT to us also though. And...is there a diff board I should be on for these questions??

Thanks.:goodvibes

Being a Starwood owner, I'm partial to the Vistana Resorts. The Marriotts are very nice too. But to be honest, most of the resorts around Disney have nice pools that your kids will love.

Marriott Horizons would be my choice for kids that age. Its pirate themed pools with slides are great - there's also a mini water park play area and miniature golf. Take a look at the pictures and reviews on trip advisor. We stay at Marriott Horizons and Marriott Cypress Harbour when not staying at Disney. Here are some of my personal pictures of Marriott Horizons:

Marriott Horizons isn't very far from Disney, either. It's just past the Premium outlet mall on International Drive south, just before you get to Sea World. Their kid area is great! I think they have a theatre inside, too, where they show movies. They also have two pools besides the kids water area, and right now they only have about 5 or 6 buildings to stay at, but they are building two large ones up near the main road. So, before they finish those buildings you will have lots of area for your kids to spread out at the pools.;)

Marriott Horizons looks great. MY favorite is Marriott Cypress Harbor - great location (across from Horizons) and they are ALL 2 bedroom units.

Horizon's, Cypress Harbour and Grande Vista in that order for younger kids.

Hey thanks - Horizons is the one I think I was talking about! I just need to know if I can book it now and then still wait for DVC to come up with an II trade? Is that an option or if I book Horizons am I really obligated to it?

You could bookit now but keep looking online. If it comes up, you could do a retrade for DVC but you'd have to pay the exchange fee two times. Personally I'd wait unless you're looking at a holiday weekend, you should be able to get something much closer at one of the 3 I mentioned as long as you try about 3 months out.
