Best Ice Cream Stops?

I have a question, is it ok to book beaches and cream just for desserts. I would of course book at an off time, I just don't want to do something that is frowned upon.
My family made an ADR at Beaches and Cream for mid-afternoon. We ordered only ice cream. There was no issue at all and it seemed that the majority of people in the restaurant were having only ice cream.

As mentioned, you could also try for the to-go window and sit outside.

I haven't been there but I've heard great things about the ice cream shop in France. It's on my must do list for my next trip.

Oh my yes! The ice cream in France is delicious! It is on our must do again list for this summer.

I've heard such great things about Beaches and Cream but won't make it there this trip.

However, going to Disney Springs so Ghirardelli is a must do for this trip.

Of course can't forget the Dole Whip it is yummy and refreshing especially with the pineapple juice (and this time I'm testing out the one with coconut rum!)

My favs:
L'Artisan des Glaces in Epcot (the French Ice Cream place): their seasonal macarons are incredible. I usually have the Pumpkin Spice in the Fall. I've also had their Hazelnut ice cream cone & it was wonderful.
Vivoli il Gelato at Disney Springs: an $ gelato spot but very, very good. I had a 2 scoop Pistachio & hazelnut & it was definitely worth it.
ps I've had the small version of the No Way Jose at Beaches & Cream & it just wasn't that great IMO. Maybe my taste buds are getting old. Maybe the gelato & French ice has just spoiled me. :confused3

Also just heard about these new offerings at Beaches and Cream "Guests (21 and over, of course) can choose from a S’mores Shake, a Classic Root Beer Float, a Grasshopper Float, a Tropical Sunrise Float, and a Stout Float."

I'm excited for Ample Hills Creamery ice cream... It's supposed to open this month right? :)

Yes, Ample Hill was/is due to open this Spring on Boardwalk and that sounds delish.

My two must-do's are the No Way Jose at Beaches & Cream and used to be the Gold Rush at Ghiradelli at Disney Springs until they got rid of it. I think now at Ghiradelli I'd get the brownie sundae.

Just to throw in a new one - Dolphin Fountain at the Dolphin Resort.

Where are your favorite ice cream places around Walt Disney World? And what's your favorite flavor/dish/sundae?

The majority of ice cream available at Disney is made by Dryers - all are 'premium ice cream'.

Places that offer more than Dryers, and in my personal order:

1.) Vivoli il Gelato in [Downtown] Disney Springs - may be the best I've ever had.
2.) L'Artisan des Glaces in France - we grab Champagne from the wine shop too.
3.) Fountain inside Dolphin - like Ghiradelli, seats are available. Ice cream is local, not mass produced.
4.) Ghiradelli in [Downtown] Disney Springs - Yes, made by Dryers, but some of the chocolate flavors are not commercially available, and the fresh whipped cream is superior.

Haagen Dazs is also available in [Downtown] Disney Springs and is considered a 'super premium' ice cream. Personally, I'm not a fan of Haagen Dazs.

Ice cream sandwich at Sleepy Hollow!!!!!! Big enough to share.

Dole whip at Aloha Isle.

As a New Yorker (home of the original Ample Hills) I suggest everybody give this rockin ice cream a try. Really unique and tasty flavored.

This is one of the things that I absolutely want to try on ny upcoming trip!! This and Amorette! :)

Do any of the ice cream shops offer Dairy Free options? My 2year old grandson has dairy allergies but is a fan of dessert. He loves the coconut milk frozen "Ice Cream". TY

As a New Yorker (home of the original Ample Hills) I suggest everybody give this rockin ice cream a try. Really unique and tasty flavored.

As a CT resident who refuses to do a trip to NY (either day or overnight) without a stop at Ample squeezed in there somewhere, I heartily agree. In general, I am not a crazy person about ice cream but this stuff is insanely good.

I agree about L'Artisan des Glaces in Epcot-best tasting and most uniquely flavored ice cream on property prior to Ample Hills arrival at Disney. Beaches and Cream is fun and the sundaes are good but nothing different than what you could get at many ice cream shops nationwide.

I had the most amazing Banana Split at The Plaza in October! Will definitely be trying L'Artisan des Glaces in one week!! As hot as it will be, I just might try all in this thread! lol

Just went to Ample Hills yesterday - oh my goodness gracious - best ice cream I've EVER HAD! Unbelievable.

We also like the ice cream in France, the No Way Jose at BC and the Fountain. But if you want knock-it-out-of-the-ballpark ice cream, go to Ample Hills.
