Have read about US/IOA/Citywalk restaurants, but can't find much on the hotel restaurants. How can we find out which are best?

Thanks!

Emeril's Tchoup Chop in the Royal Pacific is fantastic. Great dining experience.

Tchoup Chop is good, as well as Mama Della's at the PBH if you like Italian. We also enjoy The Kitchen at the HRH.

::yes::

What she said! Those would be my top picks, but not necessarily in that order.

I have the same picks as above! Our favorite is Tchoup Chop.

We've been to Tchoup Chop once & The Kitchen many times. We've never tried Mama Della's though. Sounds like we need to. ;) We have the Palm Restaurant on our list this time for the 1st time. Does it not warrant being on "The Best" list? We prefer Emeril's (which is also on our list) to TC, but would consider substituting Palm Rest., if it's not as good as MD.

We will be @ HRH 5 nights. So far, we have Emeril's, Palm, Mytho's (DS's fav.), & Lombards (to stay for Universal 360). I'm thinking either Latin Qtr. (which we really like) or Bubba Gump's (never tried) for the other night. We also have to fit in HRC, so we can take our DS on the Backstage tour. I'm thinking lunch there. Should we drop one of these for Mama Della's?

BTW, this is why 5 nights aren't enough. :rotfl2: Obviously, we're foodies & dining is at the top of our vacation priority list. Opinions welcome. :teeth:

I'm laughing so hard. You sound like us! My plans keep revolving around where we want to eat!

Since you mentioned you havent tried Mama Della's I really think you should. We have had many meals there and its always a memorable and delicious meal. The house salad is one of the best I have ever had. Last time I had the lasagna and it was excellent. The meals are served family style and the portions are large large large. They have strolling musicians and they take requests.

Sounds perfect! We love Italian. How is the seating? Would our family of 3 be seated alone? Our DS(14) isn't very social, & wouldn't enjoy dining with others.

Okay, how do I fit this in? :scratchin I guess I'll scrap the CW restaurants. There's no way we'll skip Emeril's. :cloud9: We must plan another trip soon. :rotfl:

Yes, you sit at your own table. You could make Mythos an early lunch and Latin Quarter a late dinner and you wouldnt have to eliminate anything! :rotfl2:

Ah yes. We always say we need to go to US just for the restaurants.

Do you think it would be okay for my children to go to Tchop Chop? Yes, they are very well behaved...but is it fancy, fancy??? Will there be anything for my kind of fussy kids to eat?

Yes, they certainly do have strolling musicians -- be prepared to make a request! When we were there, I thought I could politely say "surprise me" but that wasn't good enough for them. They pressured me, and pressured me, and finally asked, "What was the last song you listened to before you came here?"

I am not all that quick on my feet, and was 100% honest, "Ummm, Eminem."

"She likes the RAP?" they asked Mike.

"Unfortunately, yes."

"We are not afraid of the RAP. We Italians invented the RAP."

Well, they went into their version of Italian rap that had to be about 10 minutes long, but felt like 20. Don't do this to yourself! Be prepared!!!

I havent encountered yet a restaurant at Universal/CW/Hotels that wasnt accommodating to children. Tchoup Chop has an entire kids menu from special drinks, entrees and desserts all printed on a cute chefs hat. You can read the kids menu here.

That is so funny! I cant believe you said Eminem! I like the RAP too! LOL Next time play it safe and request Thats Amore or Tarantella. My kids play "stump the musicians". :rotfl2:

My kids are 10 and 7 and they love Tcoup Chop. It is fancy, but they have a kids menue and the servers are really great with kids. If your kids are used to eating out, and you're sure they will behave, you should definitely try it!

Sounds like there are lots of places for us to try! Where is The Palm? That's one of my favorite restaurants! I've been to the one in Buckhead (Atlanta) several times when on business trips and the food and the service were excellent each time! :thumbsup2

Thanks for all the good suggestions!! :sunny:

The Palm is in the Hard Rock Hotel.
