Still can't decide on hotel for November:confused3
Please include kid friendly, pool, amenities, quietness of room, and location in your opinions. Off site only. Lets see who wins!!!!:thumbsup2

Budget? Off-site or on? If money was no object obviously I'd recommend the on-sites, but the off-sites are much cheaper and closer for the most part :)

For off-sites, I've stayed at Best Western PPI, Tropicana, Camelot, and Ramada Inn Maingate. I'd recommend them in that order, although the continental breakfast at Ramada Inn was better than Camelot and Tropicana's :)

My choices would be either Residence Inn Maingate on Clementine or Candy Cane Inn.

The first is a suite, and they have a play yard, and basketball court. (In addition to a 24 hour pool.)

I'd vote for the Ramada Maingate if you can get a deluxe (updated) room for $100 or less. The pool is better than some of the others listed, its closer than a few listed, and there are no hidden fees, ie wi -fi, resort or parking. I just plain don't like paying more than $100 for any of the those little motels, I think the Park Vue and BWPPI are a bit overpriced personally although many people like them. Speaking of overpriced I like the GCH. Its my fave!:rotfl2:

Any tips on how to get the Ramada Maingate for under $100? I just priced a few dates & it came back $139 for a Standard Double every time.

OP- we usually stay at the HoJo. However, HoJo has made recent HUGE changes to their rates and now I find myself doing more price comparisons.

HoJo's is very kid friendly, beds/rooms are comfy & we've never had a bad experience there.

Well when I priced it in June for Sept it was $99 for with promo deluxe upgrade, last summer I paid $76. Prices go up and down. I think its a good deal at a lower price, not at $140:confused3

I have stayed at the Ramada Inn Maingate twice and the Desert Inn and Suites once. I'd stay at the Ramada again in a heartbeat. It was close, decent little breakfast (as far as continental breakies go) and the kids loved the pool. The Desert Inn and Suites -- meh. That's all I'll say.;)

Ayres is awesome. Very nice. But it's far away, ART or drive to the parking lots.

We've stayed at Candy Cane Inn many times and it's our favorite off-site! Fantastic location, beautiful grounds, very clean!, nice pool & awesome shuttle service. :thumbsup2

I'm not a huge breakfast eater, but DH & I love that they include an expanded continental breakfast of bagels, cereal, toast, danish, muffins, fruit, coffee, juice, milk, yogurt, etc. It does the trick!! We usually head over early and grab a tray of food and head back to our room to eat while getting ready.

I second that. We also like the exclusive shuttle. It's walkable but it runs every half hour. Especially nice at the end of the day.

We are planning a trip for Nov. also. The prices of hotels across the street are high for the week we are going (Thanksgiving week). I usually go with FFI because I have nothing bad to say about it (okay, wait..no free breakfast, but there is a McD's in the parking lot) the cheapest rate I can get is $149 and I don't want to pay that much for a motel. So, we booked the AAA rate at BW Anaheim Inn which is still across the street for $111 per night. Gonna keep checking for better rates though. Good luck with your decision.:thumbsup2

Last 6 trips we have stayed onsite once (GCH) and offsite 5 times.

We have stayed at Residence Inn twice, great to have a kitchen and a decent sized place where the whole family can stay. Food offerings pretty decent too. We consider this a long walk but would stay here again depending on how our trip was planned out.

We have stayed at the Anaheim Plaza Inn once. Older place, but plenty clean. Pretty close walk, would stay here again depending on trip (I would do this if solo).

We have stayed at the Park Vue Inn twice now, third time coming up this Thanksgiving. This place hits all of our needs best. Close, clean, quiet, free breakfast.

Just got back from our second stay at BWPPI. It was close, quiet, clean, and enough space for 5 people in a mini suite. After trying other hotels (Camelot, Portifino) it is now our go-to spot for our Disneyland visits.

I like the Holiday Inn Express Maingate. Close enough to walk, good breakfast, free wifi, mini fridges and good service

It's a little pricy at about 100-150 a night though.
