So through searching and links here I have found a few options for our stay in the beginning of January and I would love input on which is best or if there are other cheap options :) There is a big difference in cost but think some might be worth it for closeness to the park or confort but I haven't stayed at any of these.:confused3

Here are the options I found:
A) Best Western Raffles Inn for January 1- 6th Kid's Suite with 1 Queen Bed, 1 sofa bed and bunk beds for $625 total with tax, fees, fridge, microwave, internet, breakfast and parking

B) Same thing but room with 2 queen beds for $430

C) Hilton Anaheim for December 31-January 5 Standard room for $404 with taxes and resort fees, parking $16 a day

D) Fairfield Inn Anaheim for January 1-6 2 Queen beds for $550 with taxes, resort fee, internet, fridge. Parking $11

Proximity to the park is always #1 in my book, so the Fairfield would be my pick, it's an easy walk.

we are staying at the motel 6 Anaheim maingate for about 350 for Jan 1-6. It's about a 20 min walk with a toddler in a stroller but it does have a shuttle and free parking. We stayed there before 2 years ago and it was just fine for us. Nothing special but just right for a place to sleep and shower.

I reserved through their site after trying different travel sites and DL website as well and found the cheapest price through their site. The DL website didn't show any availability for this motel for our dates.

If you don't mind the walk its the cheapest good neighbor motel usually.

We have a reservation for Desert Inn and Suites. In January, arrival Mon departure Sat in a C2 room for $129/week night and $149/Friday night. The room sleeps 10.

It will be our first time at DI&S. The room size and it's location are why we booked.

It gives us two rooms.... a snoring room and a non-snoring room....

Thanks so much for the replies :) I will put the Desert Inn on my list for hotels to use when I travel with my friends. Did you get that rate through the hotel or somewhere else Geemo? It seems a great deal.

The Fairfield Inn looks great but I think the new Motel 6 is looking best since we can get a fridge and there seems to be microwaves too, I'm going to call in the morning to check. We will be there the same dates as you Coaches24 so maybe we will see each other :) It looks like we can walk to the Pumba lot, but I'm not sure it will be open since it is an overflow lot.

I found the rate online after reading the reviews here on the Dis Board.
And booked the end of July 2012 for a late January 2013 stay. i like it being so close to the Esplanade.

I don't trust my computer skills to do an online reservation. I still like to chat with a real person for important things like this.

I've also stayed at Motel 6- it's nice enough and clean, but it doesn't have a shuttle - it's on the ART though.

according to its website it does have a shuttle to DL. I believe it was 2 dollars a person when we were there 2 years ago. But we never needed it we just did the walk each time. We didn't go back to the room during the day so it wasn't a big deal having to walk that far.

The last day we thought about using the shuttle back to the hotel at the end of the day but we hasn't looked into it enough to know which shuttle or where to get it at from the parks.

Yes, their website says shuttle, but it's not their own shuttle, it's the ART. I was there in July - it's definitely just the ART, which stops right outside reception.

I've stayed at the Super 8 on Disneyland Drive several times - and for me it has been great ;) it is not fancy at all, but it fits my needs and budget.
Last time I stayed (Christmas eve/day 2011) it was about $55/night and it has fridge, micro free parking and a small pool....
It took about 10-15 minutes to walk to the parking lot tram and then you are right at Disney :)
