Best Hotel for Disney Princess Half Marathon

If staying at a Disney hotel is not an option budget wise, what is the next best hotel to stay at if running the DPHM? My main concern is ease of transportation to and from the race site for the runners as well as their family.

They would need to rent a car or use a taxi to get to the venue by 5:00 a.m. My DD lives in Clermont, about 20 minutes away from Epcot, but the night before the 5K, we stayed at AoA to take advantage of the charter bus transportation to and from the site. Some Epcot entry roads are blocked off beginning Friday of the PHM weekend.

Any hotel in the DTD area or even the hotels near 192/Sherberth Road area will provide easy access to the WDW resort areas.

Probably won't have a car. So if they stay at a DD hotel, they will need to take a cab or drive themselves to the race and also to get to World of Sports to get race packet? Sorry for the questions but these are my first clients looking to do this offsite.

I stayed at Hilton Bonnet Creek when I ran in 2013. They offered bus service to the race, had breakfast for us in the lobby and a cheering section. It was perfect (plus it's our favorite hotel).

That is a great location for race and expo. They would only need a cab to get over to the expo if hotel provides race day shuttle, but it won't be a far drive.

To PP - did they offer bus service for their families spectating as well? The time difference can be big - we've done a few and when offsite we drove to the start with all of us together.

Thank you. Unfortunately that is more expensive than Disney value options.

If they won't have a car then you have to add the offsite hotel cost + transportation to and from airport (in Orlando that is expensive) + transportation to and from the race + potentially a second taxi if the spectators do not want to show up as early as the racers. Disney value may be the least expensive option.

We stayed on property year one due to the race buses but next couple times stayed offsite and drove to the race. If I didn't have a car, I would stay at Disney.

That I don't know. There was barely anyone on the early bus. My husband ran with me and it was just the two of us. He thinks he remembers some non-runners though.

We booked through Last Minute Travel and got a heck of a deal. Cheaper then any disney resort with our race discount. I was able to search the code to guarantee that was where we were staying before I booked. The Hilton is our favorite non-Disney hotel.
