Hey everyone, I am kinda conflicted on the best hotel to stay at for my honeymoon because there are so many. What do you girls think is the best hotel to stay at in Disney World? I am open to anything, but the value resorts. I stayed there before and didn't really like them that much.

To me, hand down, Animal Kingdom Lodge.

It just transports you away from FL, it is so beautiful. And if you get a Savannah view oooh, to die for!

We stayed at Beach Club... it was very romantic. Second choice would be Grand Floridian. I have to say though, in the past we've stayed at Caribbean Beach, which is significantly cheaper then the deluxe's and we loved it! We'd actually choose to stay there over some of the deluxe hotels...

It depends on what you like. Our favorite is the Grand Floridian. We loved being on the monorail and the resort was so beautiful! AKL is also amazing if you are an animal lover, it is unlike any other hotel and with a Savannah room it is truly something else.

We've never stayed in the Epcot area but YC/BC have SAB, the best pool on property and I love the new rooms at BW, very nice.

I think you'll find with Disney, everyone has their favorite resorts and what appeals to some people may not appeal at all to others, there really is something for everyone.

We stayed at Port Orleans Riverside for our honeymoon...perfect if on a budge and you can book rooms with a king bed (all moderates let you book king beds but the others only can request). PORS is very beautiful and has a nice getaway feel.

If you aren't worried about money then go to Grand Floridan.

We are hoping to stay at Grand Floridian for our honeymoon. Never stayed there before but are hoping for a nice "splurge."

If you like the idea of a bigger/nicer room, but don't want to shell out for a suite at a deluxe you could consider renting DVC points for a 1 bedroom villa. They all have separate bedrooms with a king bed, a jacuzzi tub in the bathroom (HUGE tub at Old Key West), a full kitchen, washer and dryer etc.

I'd have to say either BW or BC. I just think the location is wonderful especially for adults since you can walk to Epcot on the World Showcase side and spend time there :) I may be biased since we always try to stay in the Epcot resorts every time we go to Disney

We are staying at Port Orleans Riverside. We are on a tight budget so it seems to be a great compromise for a moderate hotel! We've never been but have heard amazing things about the hotel, so we're super excited to stay there!! :goodvibes

I normally stay at the Boardwalk and love it there. It's so close to MGM and Epcot. The path to MGM is so nice. I love getting up in the morning and jogging around the lake.

For my honeymoon, I would like to stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. I really want to get up in the morning and sip my coffee while watching the animals. I figure it would be a special treat for a special trip. But I'd be happy just spending my honeymoon at wdw.

We stayed at the AKL, CR and GF during our honeymoon. Here's my quick opinion of all three:

For the ambiance, our favourite resort was/is the AKL. We had a king bed savannah room, and it was just amazing to enjoy the balcony view of all the animals. We also love the AKL's restaurants. Even the Mara is fantastic!!

But, for a honeymoon stay, I think our experience at the GF was the best. We had an amazing dormer room, and awesome service. They surprised us with personalized check-in service, in room flowers and champagne and just overall great service that made us feel special because we were on our honeymoon. We also had dinner at V&As one evening, and it was great to be right there and not have to travel to the restaurant. We had room service twice, and it was great! The food was delicious and hot!

Our experience at the CR was less than stellar. If you stay at the CR, I suggest paying extra to get out of the garden wing. We were in this wing and we felt like we were staying in a basement. It was literally dank and dark. The room was nice, but the service and environment was not. We also did not enjoy the food as much as at the AKL. The only perk we liked about the CR was the location. It was great to be able to walk to the MK.

HTH!! :goodvibes

Here is what I think:

Overall my favorite Disney hotels are the Beach club and the Poly. Beach club is in such a great location. Walking distance to Epcot, DHS, and the Boardwalk.

As far as for you honeymoon, I would suggest either the Poly or the GF. I have never stayed at the GF but we are for our wedding. I think it is just the most "Honeymoon" hotel. The Poly is a great choice if you like the theme. I love it there.

The Coronado Springs resort! It's a moderate but it's more like a Deluxe! There is a LOT of walking but it's soo pretty and the food is sooo good. My husband loved getting up and having breakfast every morning. Ask to be put in Casita 1, it's closest to the lobby I think. We have stayed there about 4 years in a row so far. They have updated the rooms and they are gorgeous; flat screen TVs, just pretty rooms. We're staying at Boardwalk this year and I know I'll miss Coronado!!

There's really no wrong answer! :goodvibes On our honeymoon we stayed at CSR, GF and OKW. We've also stayed previously at POFQ. Our personal favorite by a long shot was OKW. We really liked the DVC amenities, and our room was bigger than some apartments we've had!! :rotfl:

If you can't make up your mind, split your stay between a couple or few. Whatever you choose, it will be great, no worries! :thumbsup2
