The build up to the wedding.

Hi everyone, I am going to this is a few stages, to begin with I will do the build up to the wedding and then will post the wedding day after and then post wedding. I will mix photos into them all to keep in interesting, so if you were wondering why I have put wedding photos in the build up, you now know why. The photos that I am posting of the wedding are ones we took ourselves. I will put up the official ones at a later date :thumbsup2

Part 1 – build up

I really wanted a Disney wedding but I didn’t think we could afford it :sad2: So we originally booked through Crown Line weddings to have a wedding in Kissimmee. The more I looked at the wedding we were going to get the more depressed I became. I started to look at Disney weddings for ‘research’ purposes you understand and I realised that a Disney wedding was the only way to go. I stated to look at prices etc, I then read that you have to stay at a moderate resort to have a Disney wedding and panicked as we were staying at the ASMo resort. I didn’t want to change the hotel as I love 101 Dalmatians, so I called Disney weddings and they were lovely :goodvibes . They said that I could stay in my Dalmatian hotel and still have a Disney wedding hurray! :woohoo:

This is me outside our room, now this is why I had to stay at the 101 Dalmatians building. I absolutely love Dalmatians!

Mark posing and looking very smart outside our hotel room

Now I have to convince my DH. I told him all the information that I found and he sighed whilst looking over it. He was luckily for me becoming very frustrated with CW and said that Disney would be the best and only way to go! I was on cloud 9! :cloud9:

DH near our hotel room, look at all those Dalmatians in the background!

Now the really annoying bit, If you are a UK bride and are having an intimate wedding at Disney you can’t book it until 8 months to your wedding date! You can’t plan what characters you want, what flowers you want or well…anything :guilty: . This for me was the hardest 6 months of my life waiting for that the 8 month stage to approach. Once it did the more travel agent didn’t know what hit her, I had read do much about Disney weddings that I knew way more then her. It took a few weeks after the 8 month stage to get a Disney wedding planning pack but when it came I already knew everything I wanted for my wedding. I had a pink and cream rose’s bouquet and my DH had a matching boutonniere. I wanted Cruella De Vil, Stitch, The Beast and Scrooge McDuck and the major Domo at my wedding (for all of you who know how much these characters cost you are probably wondering how we couldn’t afford a Disney wedding to begin with and now I am having 4 Disney characters and a major Domo, well the answer to that is simple. I had no money for 2 years and saved and saved and saved some more! And my poor DH saved every penny he had also!)

Inside our ASMo room! It was worth staying there as it was perfect for me!

Now my DH knew we were having Cruella and the Beast but he didn’t know we were also having Scrooge McDuck (one of his favourite Disney characters) and Stitch (our favourite character). It was absolute hell keeping this from him. It is on all the documents you have to sign so I had to keep getting him to sign and rip them out of his hands once he had done so arguing I have done all the arranging so far so there was no need to worry himself.

I had a shell pink wedding dress which was lovely; I would stare at it some nights and get giddy from the anticipation and excitement! I also had the crème de la crème glass slippers!!! Ok so they were actual glass but they looked just like it and I felt liked Cinderella wearing them. Of course I wore them loads around the house prior to the wedding to ‘break them in’…

My DH was renting his suit form Carolyn Allen’s and he was having the Mickey Mouse waistcoat which was very classy and yet very Disney! Perfect! We had bought him a pink cravat to go with my wedding dress also, I think he looked so handsome!

his disney waistcoat! Isn't it swell!

We had booked the MK photo shoot for 2 days after the wedding and had booked for later that day to have the honeymoon photo session in MK too!

We had booked Randy Chapman to be our photographer, we went with him as everyone on Dis praised him, and they were right he was fantastic!

Well that was the planning, of course I did a lot more but if I told you everything I did you would be bored! Hope you are enjoying this so far!

To be continued…

Hello :wave2:

I will add more pictures of the actual wedding soon but will I have added a few of our own. I haven’t uploaded the official wedding photos yet but I will do that when I get time. I will add some general pictures for you though to make it more interesting!

Wedding Day

We were keeping our wedding very intimate (just me and the DH) as this is how we wanted it. We thought we weren’t that traditional until the night before the wedding in which I decided that I couldn’t have my DH in the same room and I didn’t want to see him on the wedding morning prior to the ceremony. He knew better then to question my last minute change of heart and let me panic and get things organised to how I wanted them. So I ran the reception at ALMo and asked if they had any rooms that I could rent for 1 night. The receptionist looked at me like I was mad until I explained the situation in which she changed instantly and was more then happy to sort it all for me. Now we another room key in my hand I sent the DH out which his clothes for the next day and sent him on his way. He was staying in the Mighty Ducks hotel which when we came to check him out noticed the layout was the same as ours but the room had a door that lead into the room next door! We thought this was rather strange and were glad that our room didn’t do this!

I woke very early and was instantly hit with pure excitement come pure panic! I had so much to do and was plagued with thoughts of things going wrong! My DH called me from his room to say he loved me and to check all the plans. He was very nervous as he would be meeting the Rev before me and as he is very shy he was worrying about that. I quickly straightened my hair (Yes I know the Disney lady was coming to do my hair but I didn’t want her to think I had frizzy hair (I do ) so had to have it glossy ready for her to come). She arrived at about 8:00am to do my hair and make up; she was very nice and got me chatting about our wedding. She told me that her daughter had got married in Disney the previous year and how she worked at Disney and well so did most of her family by the sounds of it, how lucky are they?

I don’t normally wear make up so I was intrigued to how she was going to make me look. All I could see was her brushing all these colours onto my face, I was convinced she had me mixed up with some Disney character she was meant to be doing for a parade (she told me she does characters make up which made me feel an even bigger star and honour to be in her presence!). However when she walked me over to the mirror I was amazed, she had done lovely soft warm classic colours and had done my eyes in a brown which I would have never picked myself but I loved it. She then told me to get my clothes off which had me double checking I had heard her right, but then it dawned on me it was time. Yes the time had come to get into my wedding dress. I felt a little self conscious stood in my underwear wondering if she was judging me (I promise my underwear was white and classic and not tarty) but I still felt like under suspicion. She was so careful with my dress and lovingly help me do up the ribbon. She then put all my jewellery on for me whilst giving me words of wisdom on how to make a marriage work, the main reason she told me was to have faith in the lord together! She left after double checking my make up and I was left in my room, I had butterflies in my stomach, not because I was nervous to be marrying my Dh but because I was just so excited that in a 1 hour he would be my husband and I simply couldn’t wait.

20 minutes later the Limo arrived, the and riving was lovely and had never brought a limo to the ASMo resort and was checking that I was okay to walk for 2 minutes of course I was. Everyone who walked passed me smiled and said lovely things which made me feel like a princess. He help me to get in the limo as this isn’t easy with a wedding dress on. He then drove me to the Polynesian resort. When I got there our wedding coordinator Kelly was waiting for me with a beautiful bouquet of roses, I then saw our photographer Randy who started to take plenty of pictures in the entrance of the Polynesian Resort. Next our Rev came up to me, his name is Rev Jack Day. He was wonderful, he then fell to his knees saying how beautiful I was which was at first a little embarrassing but then I thought ‘heys it’s my wedding day I deserve this’ so I basked in the attention in the oohs and the ahhs!

I was then led to the back of the resort and taken outside in which there was a golf type buggy waiting for me. It was at this point that a young girl with her mum walked passed and she turned and said to her mum ‘look there’s a princess’ I could have kissed her. She stopped and talked to me and said my dress was lovely, what a lovely little girl.

A minute later we drove to sunset point. I got to the end of the walk way (my equivalent to an aisle) and I could see my DH at the top with his back to me. He had been told by Kelly that he weren’t allowed to look at me yet. I was then introduced to our violinist who was a lovely man and then it was time to start the wedding!

The violinist started to play music whilst I started to slowing walk up the aisle. My DH turned around and this was a bad move on his part. I could tell he was fighting back the tears and this made me start to blubber (On the pictures Randy took at this point I don’t look attractive). When I got to the top he told me I looked beautiful which made me let out a big sob, Rev Jack bless him told me it was okay for me to cry as this was a very special moment. He started the wonderful ceremony which we had chosen and had rewritten ourselves, to be honest though it was all a bit of a blur to me. I was just so emotional and excited I could barely hear his words. When it came to the time to say our vows Kelly took my gloves and flowers. We were asked to turn around, which we did. There up the walk way was the Major Domo walking up aisle with a glass slipper on a ruby red velvet cushion which held our wedding rings. He did a lovely speech and when he finished Mark bowed and I curtsied (we were told to this by Kelly). We then turned back around and said our vows whilst grinning uncontrollably at each other! Once this was over we said a pray and then the ceremony was over, it lasted for about 25 minutes, we were then taken to the table which had our cake and champagne on it. The Major Domo did a speech then said that he was needed back at Cinderella’s castle, how cool is that!

The rev then did a lovely speech, when that was finished we then did the cake cutting. I was really excited about doing this as you use a special Disney wedding knife. We cut the cake together and were given a piece of cake each. We then tangled our arms together and tried to feed cake to each other (for photo purposes of course!) I put my bit of cake on my DH nose! Which got a laugh from everyone and cries of I knew she was the type from our rev. I was truly a happy woman. The cake was delicious, not like UK cakes which is good as neither me nor DH eat fruit cake. It was very soft light sponge with a yummy whippy fondant thing! Pure deliciousness!

We then stared to pose for photos it was at this point that I saw some Disney characters walking up the aisle!

Cruella De Vil, Stitch, The Beast and Scrooge McDuck were all heading towards us it was at this point that my DH realised that there was 2 extra characters then what he thought there was! I was so happy that he liked the surprised. The characters came and gave us a big hug and we then stated to pose for pictures. The characters sighed our autograph books too! We were then presented with our Disney wedding watches and certificate and stitch jokingly tried to steal them. He gave me a lick down my arm which was his way of giving me a kiss which made me beam ear to ear!

Stitch then went on to steal my DH top hat and wore it himself! I was laughing so hard and was truly having the best time of my life. It was now time for our first dance. All the characters stood around us whilst we danced to the song ‘Beauty and the Beast’. After we had danced though the characters moved in and we danced with them also. It was so funny watching Mark dance with Cruella!

We were having such a wonderful time I didn’t want it to end. I was really happy we had the Disney characters as this makes your wedding so much longer and special. We posed for so many photos with the characters and then 30 minutes later we said our goodbyes. With that over we moved the photography to resort in which I felt like a model for the next 340 minutes ‘look this way, look that way…’. After this we said our goodbyes and then got in the Limo (I banged my head doing this!) and we were off to our wedding lunch at the Concourse Steakhouse, this was a truly magical even and will get its own posting as I was such a lovely time.

Still to come: 1) Concourse Steakhouse meal, 2) Horse and Carriage ride 3) Romantic private cruise whilst watching wishes! All with photos!!!
