Our wedding Meal Concourse Steakhouse
After the wedding our limousine driver picked us up from the Polynesian resort, he was meant to be taking us to the Concourse Steakhouse but as we had a little extra time I asked if he minded taking us to our room to freshen up.
Once we got to our room we both went all gooey eyed about the fact we were now Mr and Mrs Arundale. After a quick toilet break and a freshen up we went back to the limo, whilst walking to it so many people stopped and stared at us and said lovely things. It makes you feel so special.
We then headed to the Concourse Steakhouse for our wedding meal with a difference. We are both extremely fussy eaters, we like your basic food and nothing much else. But we didnt want to eat our meal in a pizza bar but we did want to eat it!
I had called the restaurant before the wedding and had asked them if they could do us a pizza, they said it wasnt on the menu but as it was our wedding they would sort something. When we arrived at the contemporary resort we had to walk to the restaurant which again led to more people giving us there blessings. When we got the restaurant it was fairly empty, perfect for me as I wanted to have a choice of where I sat etc. When we came to front desk the lady behind it did a double take when she saw us standing there in our wedding attire. She was instantly lovely and couldnt do too much to make it special for us. They let us pick where we wanted to sit (I picked the comfy booth style table, perfect to get my dress in) and they brought the menus. As we read the menus we were a bit panicky as it had no pizza and they didnt seem to realise that is what we had pre-ordered. Our waiter though, Tim was his name, was so helpful and said he would sort out pizza for us if pizza is what we wanted!
They then brought free champagne to our table with strawberries on it, it was really sweet.
All the staff in the restaurant kept coming to our table and gushing about my dress etc. We felt like royalty the way they made us feel. It was perfect. Our pizza came and we happily ate it beaming at each other. They had a side dish of mash potato which was very nice also. During our meal people kept coming up to us and just smiled at us and asked if they could help etc
it was honestly the most anyone has ever fussed over us before.
Mark getting ready for his lovely pizza!
Me stuffing my face as usual!
After the pizza Tim our waiter read out the desserts and said Kiw-Lime pie, I remembered in an episode of friends that Ross had an allergic reaction to it and thought Tim would want to know that fact, bless him he even entertained me when I brought up useless knowledge. I wanted something light and went for ice cream, Mark went for Chocolate cake.
We both enjoyed our dessert deserts and were not rushed out by the staff to leave, so we basked in the fact we had the restaurant to ourselves and took lots of photos. Tim even took one of us together which was really nice.
We wondered to the shop which is just near the restaurant, I was determined to go and buy something so I could say I bought this on my wedding. Again we were given the star treatment in the shop, I decided to buy a stitch ornament but there was plenty more that I wanted also.
We then headed down to the entrance of the Contemporary resort and waited for our town car to pick us up (we had the limo for 4 hours only so we had booked a town car to collect us after our meal). We waited, and waited and waited some more! It never came. A few employees had been eyeing us up for a while and came over and asked us if they could help, we told them our situation and they were more then happy to help and got us a taxi (free of charge) and took us back to our room. I was a bit cross that the town car didnt turn up but that soon fizzled out with the kindness of the WDW employees.
We got back to our room and got changed into casual attire, though I had a nice summer dress that I bought specially for this occasion. I kept my veil and hair all posh and pretty and Mark wore his top hat. I originally werent going to change out of my wedding dress for the romantic cruise and the horse and carriage ride but then I thought that it just wasnt realistic, I would have rip my dress or something and I think I would have been too hot and humid for it also.
