Usually stay at POR with parents, DH and DS. thinking we would like to try a holiday trip. Looking for opinions on which mod has the best holiday decorations but I would also like to here about deluxe. If we go in Dec. I want to be immersed in the holidays.

We've never been to any of the mods during Christmas time, but the WL is our favorite deluxe during the holidays, followed by the GF, BC/YC, & BWI. They all have great decorations, but the WL has a cozy feel with the huge fireplace in the lobby that's surrounded by rocking chairs.

WL lends itself so well to the xmas theme (think of a log cabin all decked out). GF is also very nice, with more of an upscale, Victorian xmas theme. Those would be my pick for the best decoration at WDW that time of year.

Never been during the X Mas holidays, but I'm sure if you find pics. of WL & AKL you'll fall in love with either...I've heard that these two are the best of the best...:confused3

We've stayed at both WL and AKL during the holidays and WL gets my vote.

Grand Floridian is lovely, but the lobby gets oh so busy with people coming to see the gingerbread house. Definitely worth seeing though, as are all of the deluxe trees. I wish I could get the pictures loaded off of my phone from GF and YC although you cannot do the trees justice without a DSLR

Usually the decorations are going up in early November, with the GF Gingerbread House usually the last thing up. When we stayed there two years ago over the weekend of the Parade taping, everything was in place. Parks will be decorated whenever the first MVMCP starts and Osborne Lights usually start mid November.
