I was going to name the same two shows. I am only up to season 2 of The Wire but I think it's fantastic.

I honestly can't choose between The Sopranos, True Blood, Boardwalk empire and Deadwood. Deadwood might have a slight advantage because it starred Timothy Olyphant

True Blood. Hands down. Its the main reason why I have 8 channels of HBO.
I'm bothered that out of all of the HBO series, Sex And The City is the only one that has made it to full screen. TWICE!!!

Oh, I totally forgot about Curb Your Enthusiasm. Looking forward to new episodes in a few weeks! Larry David in NYC that can't be good! LOL

I really like Game of Thrones but I don't think it will surpass The Sopranos for me.

I quit watching True Blood because it got so weird. I liked the books better.

I never watched The Wire. I'll have to check it out.

So much good stuff with HBO series.

I think Sex and the City will always be my favorite, but there is definitely some other GREAT stuff like True Blood, and Big Love for example.
