I am looking for a great sun hat for our September trip. I would love suggestions on what others have worn and loved. Thank you!

I don't normally wear hats at the land, because I have my hair done and don't want to hide it. Yes, I know a bit vain. Lol
Not to mention, my hat would probably go flying off on a number of different rides. :faint:
When I was a kid, I lost my ears on the Matterhorn. I am NOT repeating that trauma!
Lol.......but no, really. Ok, so that wasn't a sun hat, but I thought that I would share anyway. :) Now, if I was to wear such, it would be either a nice looking sun hat that has a wide brim, which I would keep on my head with hat pins or just remove it on certain rides. Then put it back on with said hat pins and or hair pins, whatever would work out the best. Or I would wear a nice baseball style cap.
Don't forget your sunscreen and sunglasses. I don't like being in the direct sun for too long, because it doesn't agree with me. :faint:

Happy hat wearing! :)

I usually wear a white baseball cap. Other family members wear the big sun hats.

I always wear an Australian hat. It has a wide brim to protect my head. Very good sun protection and I don't have to put sunglasses on.

I'm not a hat wearer, but I am thinking for our next trip about picking up a visor of some sort. That way I can get the shade for my eyes and not have to wear my sunglasses and also let the heat out of the top of my head. Plus, then I can go shopping for one in the parks! :hyper:

With the amount of time a visitor spends outdoors in the SoCal sun while on a trip to Dland, I think it is very smart to wear a sun hat (and sunblock too.) I always, always wear a sun hat at Dland. I have three that I bring and use in rotation during a visit. All are foldable so I can take the hat off and quickly stash it in my purse for rides like Screamin or Space or Matterhorn. Then pull it out again and all are easy to reshape and look good even after having been squished in my purse. They are: 1) the Coolibar UPF50+ Women's Everyday Cotton Sun hat; 2) the Scala Women's Big Brim UltraViolet Protection Hat (comes in a wide range of colors) ; and 3) a San Diego Hat Co. Ribbon Sun Hat.

That does sound like a trauma! I would steer clear of hats as well:goodvibes

Thank you for all the great hat suggestions. I'll head over to my trusty sidekick Amazon.com

My trajectory (because I guess I never learn) goes like this:

Day One: Yarmulke ---> Sunburn ---> Day Two: DL Baseball Cap

Point being, a good brim or sun visor is really important. You often don't realize how long you've been out in the sun at DL until it's too late. Earhats can really do you in this regard. (Except for those Mickey Train Conductor earhats with the wide brim!)

Those sound like nice hats. I'll have to look into it. :)

I'm just a baseball hat kinda guy. I put some sunscreen on my neck, ears, and side of the face (sideburn area). Really, I just wear the hat to keep the sun out of my eyes all day, plus there's not enough sunscreen in the world to keep my nose from sunburning.

My kids and DH have used Sunday afternoon hats. DD9 is now more into baseball caps. I'll do either a baseball cap or wide-brimed sunhat. I recently bought one made by Wallace. The nice thing about it is that it's packable.

On hotter days, I use a visor that has a Velcro strap so I can attach it to my cross body purse strap while on rides. DL has some nice floppy hats, DD wears a Minnie one.

(^^Hi Gisele^^) :goodvibes

We've always just worn ball caps or newsboy style hats. They stay on, protect our faces and look cute. The kids didn't argue about wearing them either like they would have if I made them wear big sun hats. Plus, they are small enough and flexible enough you can squish them into seat backs or under legs during rides. Sunscreen on the back of the neck and you're good.

Now are you talking about the kids or the hats? Maybe both? lol ;)

Sorry, once again can't help myself. :faint:

I 'used' to wear baseball hats. Now I wear broad brimmed hats. Hey,it aint much of a face,,,,but it's paid for. ;)
