That does sound like a trauma! I would steer clear of hats as wellI don't normally wear hats at the land, because I have my hair done and don't want to hide it. Yes, I know a bit vain. Lol
Not to mention, my hat would probably go flying off on a number of different rides.![]()
When I was a kid, I lost my ears on the Matterhorn. I am NOT repeating that trauma!
Lol.......but no, really. Ok, so that wasn't a sun hat, but I thought that I would share anyway. Now, if I was to wear such, it would be either a nice looking sun hat that has a wide brim, which I would keep on my head with hat pins or just remove it on certain rides. Then put it back on with said hat pins and or hair pins, whatever would work out the best. Or I would wear a nice baseball style cap.
Don't forget your sunscreen and sunglasses. I don't like being in the direct sun for too long, because it doesn't agree with me.
Happy hat wearing!![]()
Congo Queen said:With the amount of time a visitor spends outdoors in the SoCal sun while on a trip to Dland, I think it is very smart to wear a sun hat (and sunblock too.) I always, always wear a sun hat at Dland. I have three that I bring and use in rotation during a visit. All are foldable so I can take the hat off and quickly stash it in my purse for rides like Screamin or Space or Matterhorn. Then pull it out again and all are easy to reshape and look good even after having been squished in my purse. They are: 1) the Coolibar UPF50+ Women's Everyday Cotton Sun hat; 2) the Scala Women's Big Brim UltraViolet Protection Hat (comes in a wide range of colors) ; and 3) a San Diego Hat Co. Ribbon Sun Hat.

The kids didn't argue about wearing them either like they would have if I made them wear big sun hats. Plus, they are small enough and flexible enough you can squish them into seat backs or under legs during rides.

Now are you talking about the kids or the hats? Maybe both? lolSorry, once again can't help myself.

We like hats by Tilley (http://www.tilley.com/us_en/) and Solumbra (http://www.sunprecautions.com). Great quality, sturdy, long lasting, super sun protection. Most styles have a neck cord that keeps the hats from getting lost on rides.
