Hi All, I was just curious as to what some of your favorite Harry Potter collectibles are. Does anyone have a Harry Potter area set up in their home? Please share photos if you can, just trying to get some ides. Thank You. :)

I've been to WWoHP twice, both times for private events. Both times, the shops were so crowded you could barely move through the aisles. On my way out of the park last year, I discovered that the big gift shop near the exit had Harry Potter stuff which I had not seen in the WWoHP shops. So my advice is to make sure you don't overlook that shop if you want Harry Potter merchandise.

My own favorite purchase was the Ravenclaw robe which I bought in the Universal Store at the Orlando airport. Not technically a "collectible," I guess. But I've enjoyed wearing it at 3 Harry Potter conferences. I hang it over the back of my closet door so that I see it all the time. I have the name badge from the most recent conference hanging over the hanger as well.

My absolute favorite is my Deathly Hallows hardcover book with the WWOHP seal which I got signed there Nov 2011 at the Harry Potter event by James and Oliver Phelps and Mark Williams who play the Weasley twins and Arthur Weasley. I was so exited I overlooked getting it signed by Rupert Grint. Other than that I like the tumbler set with each of the houses and the postcards with the exclusive postmark.

Thank you, both of these sounds wonderful. I bet that Dealthly Hallows book is very cool, I would love to go to a book signing with them but not sure they will do anymore since all the books are out. Where do you go to Harry Potter conferences?? That would be so cool.:)

I liked the resin wands you could choose at Ollivander's. My birthday was in the Rowan 2 category, so it looked like a Death Eater wand. ;)

I have heard about that, how does that work, I am anxious to do that, is it like the wand picks you like in the books??:)

No, nothing like that. After the little show inside, the party is escorted into the main shop. You tell the employee(s) there your birth date, and they'll find the wand that fits.

DH and DS each have two wands, I have keychains (I love keychains), but honestly the best things we have and actually do have OUT, are a chocolate frog container that DS keeps his little things in, and the jellybean box. We can't eat jelly belly beans (ingredients) so we give the actual beans away and keep the box to be filled with Trader Joe's organic and safe-ingredient jelly beans. It sits in our living room and every so often someone will snag a bean and smile a bit because of the box.

At some point I might get one of the glass candy jars to do the same thing with. (again, gotta get rid of the hard candy inside...they really use some cruddy ingredients in my family's opinion, for a lot of that candy there...funny how JK refused HFCS-sodas in Wizarding World, but is cool with corn syrup and dyes for her candies when alternatives exist!)

Oh and the most useful souvenir has been the scarves! Our first trip was during the infamously cold December 2010, and after 14 times in a row with DS on Hippogriff I was chilled to the bone (this was in the early morning and it was QUITE cold) and went and spent $100 on HP scarves. Everyone in my life who knits was aghast, but those people weren't with me that morning, were they? And they weren't sitting there making me a scarf, either. :)

Leakycon in Portland just ended July 1. Leakycon in London starts August 8. And in 2014, Leakycon will be back in Orlando. We don't have the dates or the location within Orlando yet.

Although I should mention that the Leakycons in the U.S. have been broadened to include other fandoms (Hunger Games, Glee, etc.) and are not strictly Harry Potter oriented.

I did not attend Misticon in New Hampshire in May, but I heard great things about it. The next one is in 2015.

How much does a wand cost? My little one 6 - is counting on me buying her one...

I believe the wands are 30 dollars? Or 20? I can't remember, but one of those two prices.

The wand is definitely one of my favourite merch items. I also have a plush dragon from the movies. The postcards were great, especially since I collect them from all over the world.

I've got a large pink pygmy puff and a small purple key chain pygmy puff that I keep in a bookcase in my computer room. My first trip to Harry Potter land I also bought the four dragon figurines from the Goblet of Fire dragon challenge. They are also in that bookshelf, along with my Olivander's Reed wand.

I absolutely love my Ollivander's wand. I was super bummed that I didn't get picked at the show, but the little kid who got picked was very cute. Later on that day, we went into the store that is attached to Ollivander's and I was looking through the wands. Who should come out the side door, but Ollivander himself! He actually helped me get a wand, took my measurements, asked me a bunch of questions and poof! A wand chose me. My mom thought I was nuts since I was crying the whole way out of the store. It was my favourite moment of our whole trip and my wand is proudly displayed at home :wizard:

The Time Turner keychain is also a really cool souvenir. I've even worn it on a chain as part of my costume for Halloween.

My personal fav HP souvineer is my Lucius Malfoy wand that comes in the walking stick. Bit pricy but looks and feels great. :)

From the Studios themselves my fav would be the Slytherin notebook with the crest on it or the empty Honeydukes sweetie jar i got last year.

Next visit i might be tempted into buying a Slytherin cloak...

Hoping they launch a whole new range of goodies when Diagon Alley opens and not just all the same stuff already in place.
