Best Guidebook

The unofficial guide has great info not found anywhere else. I disagree with their review of pop and told them so but otherwise there book is terrific. They give a shortcut to the world that I never knew about (Sherboth Rd) off of 192. The passporter is terrific too, especially to organize a trip. Buy both.

This is a question for those of you who have the 2006 Passporter and also have the 2005 edition. Other than the fact that the 2006 version is in color (saw that on the Passporter site), this there much difference between the two versions (2005 versus 2006). I really love the Passporter!!! Our first family WDW trip was in 2004 and then again in 2005. I bought both of those Passporter editions and enjoyed both, but really didn't see much of a difference in information. So now I'm on the fence about the 2006 edition. Should I buy it or not? :confused3

I have thought about subscribing to TourGuide Mike. This will be our 3rd trip to WDW. Do you think it will still be helpful? Also, how hard is to navigate and understand TourGuide Mike? I've read that some people couldn't really understand it.

Disney vets subscribe to TGM. At first the site is confusing, but if you take the time to read everything on each page it will get easier for you. Also, you can ask questions in his forum...he posts frequently too. You customize your own vacation and tour guide yourself with the info he provides.

I have the Unofficial Guide and Frommer's Guide to WDW with Kids. The Unofficial Guide is a fantastic resource--touring plans, descriptions and reviews of lodging, attractions, etc.--and it's written with a great sense of humor. I bought the Frommer's book because I really liked their Guide to NYC with Kids, but I was disappointed in the Disney one.

I also used tourguide Mike for our most recent trip, and while it was somewhat helpful, I'll probably just stick with the UOG next time.

I have the 2005 and bought the 2006. They are pretty much the same except for things that have changed and you can get that off their website. I do love the 2006 because it is in color. If you registered with them you get a 30% discount of the 2006 so I thought it was worth it.

I've been using it for about a month now and I'm finally starting to figure out where the information is. I am pretty computer and web savvy and his site is pretty confusing for me. I like the information once I finally FIND it!! I think it will probably be worth it, but I really find the site unweildy. I did find the pages I need to print where he tells you what to do when, but I'm afraid I'll never find them again!

I would still sign up because he does such a great job telling you when to go to which parks and it is totally specific to that exact day. The site is a little hard to navigate, but it's only because it has soooo much info on it. Once you surf around you get the hang of it. I am still finding new things on there every day :)

At the top of every article (on the left) there is a icon that says "add to my AVP" or "add to my articles"...so when you go to your AVP page...at the top it says "my parks", "my hotels", "my articles"...yada yada...all your work is saved.

If any of you have planned weddings through Wedding Channel or the Knot it's the same kind of template.

Passporter, hands down. Only one that lets you hold your itineraries, etc. in it.

In over 30 trips, it's the only book still in active use by us; the rest we've given to the 'newbies'....

I discovered TGM last year and I honestly can't say enough good things. I'm a VERY compulsive planner. I found that the passporter was great when I began going to WDW, but I wanted more, more, more info! :goodvibes TGM is the place for that detail oriented planner. His information is specifically tailored to your individual vacation. Like the other diser earlier, I still find new advice and information daily. :sunny: I like that! I honestly will never plan a trip without checking his calendars first in the future. TGM was my b-day present from my mom! :rotfl:

I do like the room details in the Passporter and I love the resort descriptions in UOG, but TGM has all the pieces. Happy Planning! :teeth:
