Is there a guidebook anyone would recommend for UO/IOA? I have the Disney Unofficial Guide and the Fodors (or is it Frommers) WDW and Orlando guide.
I am looking for something to steer me on which rides are appropriate for boys - 4 and 8.

So did I. The name of it is Universal Orlando 2005 The Ultimate Theme Park for the Ultimate Adventure. I got it a Hastings bookstore.

I got that book too, but wasn't really impressed. I absolutely loved the Unofficial Guide to WDW, but it seems that there is really not that much out there for Universal. It decribes the rides pretty well, but the resorts are an afterthought.

I agree, I just purchased Kelly's book and it is no where near as nice and informative as Disney's Birnbaum book. If anyone finds a guidebook for Universal that is as nice (with pictures please ^_^) as the birnbaum book, please email me! Thanks! :D

I own three books, the UG to Walt Disney World 2005, which has a pretty substantial section on USF, including descriptions of all the rides and sample tours, then the UG to Universal, Sea World (forget the title, maybe "Beyond Disney?), which basically contains excerpts from the UG to Walt Disney World, plus a bit more info on minor attractions such as Gator Land, as well as more targeted hotel info for the area around Universal. This latter book was not a good investment, IMHO, for people who alreayd own the UG to WDW and don't care about Gator Land, etc. Then there is Kelly's book, which is like the Birnbaum guides to Disney in the sense that it gushes about everything, but it is the most informative and helpful, just because it has the most detail, being focused solely on Universal.

There the DIS website, www.usoinfo.com, and another helpful website, www.ioacentral.com to check out as well.

LOL! You are right, this is the best place to gather info on Universal...I was just hoping to find something I could read in bed. :)
