Best Grocery Stores for Produce & Meat in FL?

My DH and I have recently made the move from Michigan to Florida. We're living in Clermont.
We were wondering where the best places to get produce and meat from are. We bought the rest of our groceries from Wal-Mart, but I am not a fan of Wal-Mart meats or produce. I don't know much about the other grocery stores here and could use any help available!

I mostly shop at Publix, and alot of times buy my produce from the flea markets. I don't really care to much for Winn Dixie, or Sweet Bay.

I also shop at Publix. I will say that the cuts of beef available in Florida do not stack up to those I was used to in Missouri. I was also surprised, when I moved to Florida, that produce is as expensive as it is. I assumed it would be cheap since it is the sunshine state. Wrong!

I am in south Clermont and the only store I buy meat, produce and deli from is Publix. I buy most of my other groceries from Wal Mart and stay far away from Winn Dixie, atleast the one in my area.

I noticed the expensive produce too! I, too, thought that it would be cheaper too!

I usually buy produce from roadside stands, Publix and Costco for meat.

Another Publix girl here. On occassion I buy my produce at a local produce stand and some meats at a gourmet/specialty store.

I agree! We are from Illinois and we have yet to find any grocery store that has the quality of meat that you find in the Midwest. (not to mention it's much more expensive here!).

I live in Clermont too. I buy meat and produce at Publix. About the only produce I'll buy in Walmart or Target is lettuce and onions. I really don't like any other grocery store in the area.

We get our meat at BJ's, and usually the produce at Target.

I only buy meat from Publix anymore. They have really good meat and produce. We go to the one up on 27 near Vista Del Lago. It is not too far from Hwy 50.

We shop at "Castle" Walmart as my kids call it. I bet you can guess which one that is.

I get most of our meat from Costco. Publix is nearly double the price we paid in TX. Costco is more too but not as dramatically.

I think our Publix has a horrible produce selection and it is pricey. I've been checking out the local farmer's markets.

I can't comment completely since I live in Pensacola, but I try not to buy meat and produce from Walmart since it is not that great quality. One day my grandfather, who buys and cooks steak regularly told me the reason the meat at Walamart isn't good is because they only get "Prime" cuts of beef, which is the cheapest cut of meat, most other grocery stores carry "Choice" or "Select" cuts.

I'll be honest with everyone here, I hate going to Walmart, but their price for everything else I need are so much cheaper than all the other stores in my area, I really can't afford to shop anywhere else.
