Hello! We're headed to ssr this dec. for the first time and want to pick up a few grocery items on our way to check in. I stopped at a target before but I honestly don't remember where it was, and it was when I was staying at BLT so not sure if there's a closer/more convenient option? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!:flower3:

We always have a car, and grocery store trips happen more than once. I really like the Publix in Celebration (it's swanky, for a Publix), and it seems like a "first night at Universal" tradition is always the hot food bar at Whole Foods. That's generally our most expensive meal, if that says anything for how much their hot food costs! :)

Hi Magickingdomprincess,

The Target you most likely stopped at if you took 417 the Greenway (toll road and my preferred road to/from MCO) was on Orange Blossom Trail. The SuperTarget is immediately south of the 417. You would take the exit for OBT, turn right at the end of the ramp which will take you right back underneath the 417 and Target will be on your right back behind a Cracker Barrel restaurant, gas station and a Walgreen's.

I live super close to the Celebration Publix and I LOATHE it. I think their prices are ridiculous and it is packed ALL the time. And sometimes their produce is less than great. I do reluctantly trudge in there occasionally to buy Boar's Head deli meats because I really like them. But I avoid that store like the plague and it would be much more convenient for me to do my everyday grocery shopping there than the one(s) I do go to. (Sorry bumbershoot, but I'm glad you like it! :) )

If you wanted what I consider a nicer Publix that is almost as convenient as the SuperTarget described above, you could take the John Young exit off the 417 (the very next exit after the OBT exit) and again turn right or south. It will be about 4 traffic lights down and on your right, tucked back into a larger shopping center on the corner of Town Center Blvd and John Young Parkway. It is behind a Keke's Breakfast Cafe and I think there is also a Suntrust Bank out front. There's a Hallmark store to the right of the Publix. Happy shopping!

Thanks so much! I think you're right, Orange Blossom Trail sounds really familiar. I actually really like SuperTarget, it's where do most of my grocery shopping at home, plus we have the Target card (5% off doesn't hurt). I just wasn't sure if the route to SSR would be different. Do you happen to remember if there's any fast food restaurants close by or if there's a Café in the stotre? Ours has Pizza Hut pizza/breadsticks. We'll be on a plane from 6:30 am-12:30 pm (have a stop but not a plane change in Chicago) so I'm thinking we'll be starving. I thought about the rest of my family grabbing some lunch while I shopped. Thanks!

Hello again, Magickingdomprincess! Me too, I do my grocery shopping mostly at SuperTarget and then some stuff from Costco and Whole Foods. I think that Target does have the Pizza Hut kiosk. But if you like Chick-Fil-A as my family does, there's one directly across OBT from the on/off ramp from 417. And there's a Steak & Shake right next to it. I like Steak & Shake but BOY is their drive throughout S-L-O-W. So if you're in a hurry I would opt for ChickFilA.

That's the way I would go to SSR from MCO airport because it is so easy but it is a toll road as i think you know. After you stop for supplies, I would probably get off on the International Drive/536 exit and just stay straight until you see the exit to OKW & SSR which will be right after the Downtown Disney & then EPCOT exits. (you will pass the very large Marriott World Center on your right along the way) It will be the same exit with signage for Port Orleans/Riverside as well. Hope that's not too confusing. Have fun!

Thanks so much for all the info southerngirl528! I've never actually eaten at a Steak & Shake so we might have to check it out (we don't have them in Wichita where I live). We do love Chick-fil-A though so we'll see what we're in the mood for. Really appreciate your help! :goodvibes
