Hi,
I was wondering if anyone can fill me in as to which hotels (non-Disney) have the nicest suites and are close to the parks walking or a good shuttle service? Any past trip recommendations? Going mid December 2 adults 2 little ones.

Thanks

Hi, welcome! Here's a link to a map that shows walking-distance hotels, and you can click on the links to go to the hotel website. On the left of the page, you'll see a "kids suites" box that shows you some of the options for suites with a kids' room, if that's what you had in mind. Carousel is very close. A few people here have had bad experiences there, but many people like it just fine. However, kids' suites nearby tend to fill up far ahead of time, so for mid-December, you may be out of luck, especially with walking distance.

Hope that helps!

A little farther down Harbor, but on ART line, is Comfort Inn Maingate. They've recently remodeled, have kids' suites and are pretty nice.

I have two little ones in cribs still, and had booked the king suite at HOJO's for us. It worked because they would be able to sleep in our bedroom during the day for naps without us bugging them, and then we could move them out in to the living room at night. So, we were always seperated. The living room has a sleeper sofa if you have bigger kids. The room also has a 'kitchen' with micro, fridge, and table to eat at. :thumbsup2

This suite usually books up months in advance, but I just posted a thread the other day where I'm canceling our suite next week for Dec 15-21st. Let me know if sounds interesting to you. :flower3:

ETA-HOJO's only has one king suite. It's on the top floor of the main building with a Disney view from the living room and bedroom. It has the 'catherdral' windows at the top of the room which makes the room really bright and airy. (Some don't like this feature becuase it also never really darkens during the day, my kids will nap anyways though.) Also, their King Suite has their new pillowtop mattresses with great sheets ala the Westin's 'Heavenly Bed'.

The Best Western Park Place Inn & Suites is right at the crosswalk, and is the closest suite hotel. Not sure if it is a good neighbor, but I have heard decent things about it. Except to avoid Captain Kids for breakfast.
