For anyone who has to be Gluten Free, what are your favorite restaurants or places to eat? Trying to come up with something new for our next trip. We have celiac so no cross contamination.

There are two of us who are very gluten intolerant, and cross contamination is a no-go for us.

For counter service, our favorites are:
Satuli Canteen
Regal Eagle
D-Lux Burger
Polite Pig
Erin McKenna's

For table service:
Raglan Road
Sanaa
Beaches and Cream

Thank you for these ideas. I am in the beginning phases of planning for April ‘22 and notice not all menus mention GF options. I am also DF which adds another dimension.

Raglan Road and Morimotos in DS were fantastic for our gluten (+ other) allergies. Tusker House and Sanaa pre-pandemic were good. Surprisingly the Tea Room at GF had a really nice GF set up. Satuli was the best for QS. A lot of QS was very slow for allergy orders. Woody's Lunchbox was good but slow, for example.

Ohana used to be a favorite but even prepandemic we were really disappointed in our last couple experiences. Be Our Guest was also a big disappointment.

Here are some of my favorites:
Trattorria al Forno
Sunshine Seasons
Reagle Eagle
Woody's Lunchbox (grilled cheese...YUM!!!)
Satuli Canteen

I think most any place that has chicken tenders will have a GF version, and they are really quite good. I would eat them even if I wasn't GF!

Trattoria Al Forno was very easy to eat at GF. Which is really unusual for GF/Italian food.

They did a good job with the pasta (not mushy) and most of their sauces were not thickened with wheat flour so that was easy.

The only thing they couldn't accommodate for me was bread, as at the time I ate there I couldn't have wheat/buckwheat, egg or (cow) dairy.

I could eat sheep or goat's cheese and both of those were available.

If there's any need to be there- Everything at the Riviera was excellent with allergies (I am gluten/dairy/shellfish free and my son is a a long list)

Skipper Canteens had MULTIPLE things I could eat, which was awesome- by the time you add restricting dairy it's normal for me to get one choice, so that was cool. Otherwise earlier this year we were impressed with Mama Melrose, Hollywood Brown Derby, Liberty Tree, the Plaza, Biergarten, and Rose and Crown. (plus had a lot of acceptable meals elsewhere, but those ones we remember as good)

If your only issue is gluten, basically everywhere can feed you, you really want to look for the type of food you want on the menus. They have gluten free substitutes everywhere and luckily it's "trendy" so oddly that means they actually plan for it.

I am celiac and had no issues at all with GF options on our trip.

Boathouse was great in DS - actually served fresh GF rolls rather than frozen ones that you get elsewhere on property.

LTT was my favorite dinner in the parks/resorts (outside of Shula's, but that's a different deal). Was not sure exactly what to expect with it being family style, but they brought out a completely separate platter for me that was entirely GF (including GF rice bread stuffing). Great meal.

We also ate at Cape May, Crystal Palace, Sci Fi, San Angel Inn and DLuxe Burger (carryout) with absolutely no cross contamination issues. Food at each was good, but nothing to get too excited about.

Shula's was also very accommodating and pretty easy to do GF. Obviously a different experience than most Disney restaurants with the price, but it was an amazing meal and they took my allergy pretty seriously. Waiter was very knowledgeable and helpful.

Also did Chef Mickeys for breakfast and it was great. On top of gluten, I also have a pork allergy, so breakfast can be a bit tricky. Chef came out and talked with me and made up a separate platter of entirely GF/pork free food that I could eat.

For CS, Flame Tree was a great lunch option at AK. Also had the GF chicken nuggets and fries somewhere in Magic Kingdom (can't remember where) and they were really good.

For me, GF options where I live are pretty limited, so anytime I can get multiple GF options somewhere it is a nice change. Hands down my best experience with food was Erin McKenna's Bakery in DS. Entire bakery is GF. It had been a long time since I had walked in somewhere and could order/eat anything and everything without even asking if it was GF. If you go to DS, it is definitely worth your time to stop by Erin McKenna's.

AK--Definitely search out the churros at Nomad Lounge!!

EPCOT--If you like sushi/japanese both the QS Katsura Grill and TS Teppan Edo in EPCOT are good for GF.

DS-Frontera Cocina has always been one of our go-to's as they have a clearly labeled menu. Jaleo is also a unique dining experience and has a clearly labeled menu as well. Sprinkles has GF cupcakes. Morimoto has a lot of naturally GF items and can make some of their dishes GF with tamari.

Resorts--Narcoosee's at the Grand Floridian is a nice spot for dinner with lots of seafood choices and GF fried calamari !!!

Wow, this is an amazing list! It has been a few years since we have been and the options seemed less than before. I am excited to try some new places based on this list!!!

Skipper canteen has gluten free Brazilian cheese bread that is to die for. There are several options for gluten free main meals as well.
Tiffins was great, then go to Nomad Lounge for the gluten-free churros!
It’s so nice now that many menus include an allergy menu. We also made sure it was noted on our original reservation that there was a gluten allergy (even though celiac disease is an autoimmune disease). At least sometimes it popped up before they even took our order. I have never had a problem getting glutened at any of my Disney visits.

Boathouse was great in DS - actually served fresh GF rolls rather than frozen ones that you get elsewhere on property.

They are AMAZING at accommodating gluten-free (adn from what I hear, other allergies)!! The one caveat is their fryer is not designated, so if cross-contamination is a problem, you can't have fries.

BUT I found them to be amazing at working to accommodate. I went to brunch there on Sunday and asked about the Shrimp & Grits. I figured they were not safe because the cheese usually used in the grits is "spicy beer cheese". I gave the manager an alternate choice in case they weren't, and I was fine with that. But she came back and said that while I was correct that the dish was not safe as it was, the chef was making a new pot of grits just for me and was going to add in a cheese that was safe, thus making the dish safe! It was sooooooo good!!!!

Other great options:
Skipper Canteen
Le Cellier
Jaleo
Satu'li Canteen
Three Bridges (at Coronado Springs)

We also made sure it was noted on our original reservation that there was a gluten allergy (even though celiac disease is an autoimmune disease).

There are people (like me) who have a gluten/wheat allergy, so it is not incorrectly labeled as such. If you have celiac you just need to be clear that cross-contamination is a no-go. Not all allergies are triggered by cross-contamination so shared fryers are not a no-go, but wheat in the dish is.

If it’s ok to “plug” a YT channel here, I love the content by Gluten Free Dairy Free WDW. They’re a couple; one creator has celiac and used to be DF and now eats some dairy but is very clear about when things can be modified; her partner has various allergies (shellfish, chicken, cabbage…) and they are SO clear and detailed in their reviews. They have a blog too!
This will be my first trip since celiac diagnosis, and the plans we have at the moment are:

8/21: Epcot F&W booths (@paleodisney on IG has some good recs)
8/22: Brown Derby & Trattoria al Forno
8/23: Skipper Canteen & Village Haus pizza
8/24: Satuli, Nomad, Topolinos
8/25: Sci Fi, Ogas, Sanaa
8/26: Whispering Canyon breakfast, BOG lunch, Wine Bar George
8/27: Chef Mickey’s breakfast, Cali Grill dinner
8/28: Topolino’s breakfast

some don’t have GF menus online but I’ve been assured by aforementioned creators that they will make tasty food for me so fingers crossed!!

after our Disney trip we head to Delray Beach - my fiancé has a work thing - and I’m going to be so spoiled by WDW that I don’t know what I’ll eat!!

The "Traditional" lunch/dinner skillet at Whispering Canyon is inherently GF, and they'll bring you GF cornbread. They also have a GF warm chocolate cake for dessert. And absolutely don't miss Erin McKenna's at DS.

50s prime time is a GF favorite that even has homemade gluten free fried chicken it’s delicious. It’s a favorite for our GF household. The Cobb salad at Brown derby is amazing too. The churros at Nomad lounge are so delicious. If the port orleans resort opens up we would always go get gluten free beignets there. Ragland road has an awesome gluten free batter that the use to make fish and chips/ onion rings and my favorite their battered scallops. Hangar bar has some good GF bar bites too.
