I always say, the best early toys are the "B" toys: blocks, balls, bears (as in teddy, for loving and role playing), board books (Goodnight Moon, Chicka Chicka ABC, Golden Bear are some of my faves), bath toys, and buckets or baskets.........they just love to put in and dump out.
