We will be staying at the Poly for two nights in late September. This will be our first stay at the resort and we have booked a garden view non smoking room. Now here is the big question…we need help deciding what building to request! We will have two youngsters with us, which means the volcano pool and food court will likely be a popular spot for us. We would also like to be close to the beach or have a sneak peek of the Magic Kingdom if at all possible. All you veterans please lead us to the right building to request and the ups and downs of each that house a garden view room.

Thanks in Advance!

I like Tokelau. Tikiman (Knower of all thing Poly) loves Tahiti. Both buildings have good garden view rooms. There are a few rooms in Tokelau which have a side view of the Lagoon.

Thanks for the info Disneydenise...Any other Polynesian veterans out there with suggestions??

I like Niue myself. It's a nice small building which is centrally located and close to just about everything, just a few steps from the Great Ceremonial House and both pools, though a little further from the beach than Tokelau or Tahiti.

One disadvantage: I don't think there's an elevator.

The resort is smaller than many seem to think. There are no long distances to be walked regardless of where you stay. For my money any non-smoking building east of the GCH is fine.

Tokelau is a great spot and nothing is very far to walk to like many of the other resorts. There really is no food court but the resturants and Captain Cook's is in the GCH which is next to the volcano pool. Tokelau is right next to the quiet pool and not very far from the volcano pool and GCH. With Tokelau you could end up with a slight lagoon view in your garden view room.

Tahiti is a great longhouse but is better if you are staying in a lagoon view room.

The only longhouses I would avoid would be the garden view side of Tuvalu and Rapa Nui because you could be looking at the parking lot if you get the wrong side of the longhouse.

Just back and stayed in Tokelau
We had a awesome view of the lagoon and grand floridian

1 Mo fo Tokelau!

We were on the left side, second floor, across from Hawaii and the "quiet" pool. We had a small view of the lagoon (For free! Bonus!)

Try to get on the left side as far down the hall as you can. You can get lagoon views for free on the second floor. Don't know if you can see it from the first.

We loved the location....it was quiet, and we had a duck family living under our balcony which was fun to watch when DS' napped and we were sipping Pina Coladas. We heard no noise from the Volcano pool, however, it was a only a three minute walk away. The Great Ceremonial House was two buildings over, about 1 minute away.

Tokelau is non smoking, huge rooms, and has elevators....great for kiddies in strollers!

You will love it.....have fun!

We were in Tokelau and loved it. It was close to everything. What was real nice was being so close to the quiet pool for those quick dips the kids would need after a long day in the parks.

Another vote for Tokelau! We had two third floor rooms facing the end of the Hawaii building. The quiet pool was to the left, and to the right, we could see the GF and the castle. The location was great!

When I found out that Fiji was considered a garden view I requested there. Oneside has a view of the lawns, gardens and beach in the distance and the other side has a view of the marina. To get to the great Cerimonial House you just have to walk past the marina. We had a view of the volcano as well. On the other side you can see the beach which isn't a far walk, maybe...o ne minute! :0)

Which buildings would we have to worry about getting a room without a balcony possibly on a garden view....we really want a balcony!

The newer buildings (Tahiti,Tokelau, and Rapa Nui) have balconies on both the second and third floors. The other buildings only have balconies on the third floor. I think Nuie only has two floors and no balconies (?) if I remember right but someone please correct me on that if I'm wrong. I always request a third floor balcony room and so far have always got one. I think the only garden view buildings I wouldn't want to be in is Rapa Nui (possible parking lot view) and Tahiti which is just too far from the GCH for me.

Yet another vote for Tokelau:) :) :)
We were there last year in the second room from the front of the building facing the beach on the right side and had a great view of the beach and even better view of the castle (looking extreme left on the balcony of course;) ). Have a wonderful time with your family at the fabulous Poly. I know we did.

Chalk up another vote for Tokelau..
We stayed there last year and it was very convenient, it was a short walk to the GCH, Volcano Pool and TTC. And I think all the rooms have balconies in that building.
