best functional souvenier?

I buy a scrapbook and then by stickers in every park. Then I save everyscrap of stuff from napkins, Photo claim tickets to Iagoo's feathers from the tiki room. When we get home the whole family (DH, 2 DDs and myself) spends the next month reliving our trip making pages for our scrapbook. We love it. pirate:

I got my sister a throw blanket, and plan to get one for us too -- great for the chilly winter times and will remind us of the trip.

definatly the beach towels...the kids use them for swim team and all the other kids are always asking where did you get that...the wter park ones are the favorites..

always go for a WDW jacket or sweatshirt when we visit. Last trip, I got some of the chrome wine stoppers (in the shape of Mickey's head) for my family, co-workers, etc. and they were a huge hit! You can find these at any of the home stores in any of the parks.

Enjoy!

Photo album with the year on it. Easier to keep the trips separate that way. Coffee mugs. Last trip in Oct I bought a small light weight back pack for about $16, great for lugging things to the parks and not too big or heavy. I have a Lenox Pooh and Piglet figurine from a few years ago that I love. I use my Pooh oven mitts almost everyday! I have a polar fleece hoodie from Canada from one trip that I was cold on. I'm not a t-shirt person so these type things are better for me. Oh yes, my all time favorite is a sweater I bought in Norway for over $200 many years ago. Hand knit, very warm and still looks brand new!

It is hard to choose just one, so here is my list...

Mickey Waffle Maker
Dated Photo Album
Charms to add to my Sterling Silver Charm Bracelet
Christmas Tree ornaments

We enjoy picking up a mug or two while in WDW. Memories every morning :drinking1 and the kids love looking at all the characters on them as well! I also am very pleased that I decided to purchase a Mickey kitchen soap/lotion dispenser. It is all white and I got it at the Caribbean Beach Resort shop. They shipped it to my home for me as it was fragile. I am still using it everyday!!! In addition, keychains and t-shirts are other worthwhile goodies we have bought! (Although, in preparation for our next trip, I have had great luck getting some BRAND NEW WDW t-shirts on ebay for everyone in our family! Saved a ton of $$$$$!) :flower1:

We always buy an ornament or two and have them personalized. In addition to that, this year, we bought all the towels and soapdishes and studd to decorate our downstairs bathroom. We just moved into a new house and waited until we went to Disney to get the stuff.

Everyone compliments us on it and it's a fun to look at.

Just back from our first trip to WDW and loved it! For myself, I had a ball making a charm bracelet. I first saw the charm display at the shop outside of Pirates on our first day. I kept thinking about it and that night when we ate dinner at the Poly, I saw the charms there too, so I decided to start one. I bought the bracelet and four charms to begin with. I got my three kids favorite characters and the castle charm since we had just finished watching Wishes from O'hana and thought it was beautiful. After that, I bought a charm to represent each thing we did on our trip...the magic hat for MGM, the ball for Epcot, a Blizzard Beach charm, the Animal Kingdom charm, Ariel (my personal favorite princess) and one from the Boardwalk hotel where we stayed. I have been wearing it everyday since we got home and it keeps me in that "magical place".

:flower1: I LOVE this idea! How much do the charms and braclet cost ? :flower1: Where are most of the charms located? Are they all metal or is there colors?

My daughter Tara's favorite souvenier is her Minnie Mouse hat because its very funny and allways makes her laugh....TAZ :guilty: puckerup: :D :wizard:  :cool1: :Pinkbounc :charac2: :earseek:  pirate: :cheer2: :grouphug: :moped:  :rockband: :rockband: :rockband: :drinking1 princess:

My favorite souvenier is the Mickey folding windbreaker I bought back in 97. :) It was chilly and pouring rain the day we were there and I bought it to stay dry and warm up. It's one of the traveling kinds that rolls into its own stuff sack that you can clip to your belt. I have used it many, many times since then, and it fits in my small backpack that I wear in the parks, so I'm always prepared for a surprise afternoon downpour. :)

My hubby bought me my favorite souvenir. It is a Mickey Mouse pizza cutter. Use it almost daily. Cut up waffles at breakfast, sandwiches for lunch, even use it on pizza. It is a daily reminder of a great trip.

I'm curious about this as well.

My favorite from trip in July was red ice cube tray. I think they were about $3 and make mickey icon shaped ice. I wish I had got more. The kids love the Mickey ice in all their drinks. I got them at the shop at Yacht/Beach Club. Tricia

Definitely a watch if you need one. That's something you get to use every day. Otherwise, the souvenirs I get the most use out of are clothing. I always buy a couple of new shirts when we're there. One year, I came back with 13 shirts! If I had know I'd buy that many, I wouldn't have packed any to go down.

Kitchen items are good too. Spoon rests, oven mitts, salt and pepper shakers, etc.

Bought 2 fleece throws on the last trip. They are made of Sweatshirt material and are very long...(We are tall so that is great)

We use them everynight while watching TV to keep warm...We love them. I got grey Grumpy one and I bought a navy MGM one for my DH...

We also love our WDW Mickey Ears Spoon rest.We use it everyday and have had it since our first trip in 2001.

the mugs are nice as well as the large plastic colourful drink glasses we got at the World of Disney.

My most functional souveniers are my re-fillable coffee mug from AKL, which I use every morning because I always have to rush out of the house in the a.m. and I need my COFFEE! Also, my lightup Tigger pen. I bought it for my autograph book and now I use it at work everyday, especially when I'm having a bad day, it helps to make me smile!

Like a previous poster we also bought kitchen ware. The Mickey's Coffee line of plates, mugs, cream and sugar bowls, etc..

Last trip I bought a watch & silver Mickey bracelet that I love seeing everyday...something else I like to buy and use all year are Disney pens & pads. Whenever I use them at work it makes me think of WDW. ::MinnieMo

My favorite souvenir is a very small Tinker Bell on a suction that you can hang in your front window of the car It's to the right of my rear view mirror and I have daily reminders of the Magic :wizard:

Hello --

Does anyone know if any of the DTD stores sell a Disney planner/desk calendar? Being the anal person I am (as demonstrated by my obsessive trip planning!), this would be the most functional souvenir for me!
