What are some dinner restaurants that kids really seems to enjoy?
We are travelling in August for our first DW trip and the kids are 2 boys ages 3& 4 and one girl age 7

Also what dinner show do you think would be best for kids this age? I heard Mickey Backyard BBQ is fun but the food has gotten some mixed reviews and not sure about the heat in August.

Also what time on the 180 day mark can we call to make our dining reservations? Are they open 24 hours for call?
Can we make all our reservations for the full trip at the 180 day mark or do I need to call each day 180 days in advance?

Thanks

Hi

To answer your 1st question, I guess it is anywhere where the characters show up - Chef Mickeys, 1900 Park Fare (getting great reviews since the refurb), Crystal Palace at MK..... Best non-character dinners for kids would be 'OHana & Whispering Canyon.

Hoop-Dee-Doo seemd the best of the shows.

Disney Dining opens at 7.00am Eastern.

My kids love Chef Mickey's and Hoop Dee Doo Review. Have a great trip!

I was just looking through my photos and came across my boys "playing the washboard" at Hoop Dee Doo....I'd go with Hoop Dee Doo for the show. The food is pretty good - certainly not fancy - my husband loved the ribs, corn bread, etc.

Now it depends on personality for this one but my kids actually really enjoy the Biergarten in Germany at Epcot. There are no characters but there is a great German Oom Pah band playing polkas (I know - polka - Polish - whatever). There is a dance floor up front and they took off and "polka-ed" like crazy. It's sort of a nice break from the characters for us grown ups. Food is 'German' but buffet so there's always something to find.

In MK we enjoy Crystal Palace for the Pooh Characters & food but I think Liberty Tree Tavern is probably a bit better consistency food wise.

Just some thoughts.....:thumbsup2

I thought Ohana had Lilo, Stich, Mickey and Minnie?

We always go to Chef Mickey, The Crystal Palace, The Trails End Buffet (No long wait) and the Coral Reef.

Our whole family (including DGC 2,3 and 4 at last visit), enjoys 1900 Park Fare, especially with the new characters. We're going back with them in June.

We really enjoyed the Play n' Dine at Hollywood and Vine (at Disney's Hollywood Studios) with the Playhouse Disney characters - June, Leo from the Little Einsteins and Jojo and Goliath. But the characters are only there for breakfast and lunch, not dinner. If you can schedule it in, this is a lot of fun - the kids can get up and sing and dance with the characters! My kids LOVED it! We will definitely do this again on our next trip!

We also really enjoy - Crystal Palace, Chef Mickey's, Liberty Tree Tavern, and the Sci-Fi (no characters here, but AWESOME atmosphere!)

We didn't really think the Backyard BBQ was worth the $$$, but I know others have enjoyed it. We would choose Hoop-Dee-Doo.

I have 3 kids and here are their favs in no particular order

chef mickeys
whispering canyon
prime time
Garden Grill
Cindys castle

My kids both love Chef Mickey's and Ohana. My daughter's favorite would be any of the meals in Norway (EPCOT) with the princesses.

I can tell you the ones my DS specifically requested for April:

Ohana breakfast
Cape May Cafe Breakfast
Chef Mickeys
Liberty Tree Tavern

I would have your ADR at Cinderella's Royal Table. The food there is really good and in the middle of dinner, the Fairy God Mother comes out with the two mice. She starts singing and interacting with the crowd and everyone just has a good time to. Also, as part of your dinner package, you get free pictures with Cinderella.:goodvibes

Another good place is 1900 Park Fair is also another really good place to eat at.

I would have to say 1900 Park Fare. We ate there last Thursday and it was really alot of fun. The food was good, not 5 star quality, but it also wasn't horrible as some of the reviews have stated either. The characters were awesome, quite funny too and didn't rush you through your greet. We also ate at Chef Mickey's on our last morning and that too was nice and a good way to end our trip. The characters were a little more rushed, especially Mickey Mouse, than at 1900 Park Fare but again the food was good.
