Best Friends take on the World

That shirt is so awesome. I love planning outfits too. I would love to see the outfits you put together.

Thanks so we'll have pirate day

Toy Story Day - I got Jeffrey this same Woody shirt and will just have to pull asside my kids that they wore in January.

Perry the Plattypus day

And I think that's enough for matchy, matchy - of course we have tons of other Disney outfits that do not coordinate.

The last 2 trips we've done red mickey shirt day - not sure if we'll do that again or not

My Disney order arrived. Devin loves his pirate shirt.

These have been ordered - not just for the trip but just b/c dressing up is fun in general - not sure which one Tyra will choose to wear on our AK day.

And here is what I'm going to transform into her pirate outfit - have some iron on things that I'm going to sew to the skirt (remove the bow from the pettiskirt too) and then doing an iron on blig thing to the shirt.

Happy 100 days till we leave for Disney:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Sorry for the lack of trip updates but there really have been no new details surface and I’ve been dealing with some personal issue, my father was diagnosed in March with a very aggressive form or leukemia and lost his hard fought battle last week.

Thank you both for the condolences. It all happened pretty quick but he said he was never in any pain so that was reassuring.

Tonight my best friend & god son (traveling companions) are coming over for our first Disney Movie Night. The kids know they are coming over for a move but don’t have any idea about the theme or activities planned (basically just printable work books & a game I found online). I dropped them off at camp this morning and then circled back home to set up the table, Tyler is going to put out the games and food for me, so it will be a surprise to them when I pick them up and they get home this afternoon.

On the menu - Pizza Planet Pizza, Buzz's Planetary Breadsticks, Woody & Jessie’s Root’n Toot’n Fruit Salad, Mr. & Mrs. Potato Head Chips, Lotso Berry Juice Coolers, Green Alien Cupcakes (and I already have foods in mind for the follow up TS2 & TS3 - rex's dino nuggets & slinky dogs cruley fries - hahaha)

Our first Disney night was a success. The kids loved the surprise theme dinner and enjoyed watching the movie (they ended up putting in TS3 after we watched the original)
Pizza Planet Pizza

Buzz’s Planetary Breadsticks

Lotso Berry Juice Coolers

Woody & Jessie’s Rootn’ Tootn” Fruit Salad

Mr. & Mrs. Potato Head chips

And dessert of Green Alien cupcakes

Dining Room table with minimal decorations

The kids were surprised by the set up when they returned home from camp. They loved all the theme food. After we ate they played a quick game of “Pin the Tail on Bullseye”.

Then it was movie time

Can you guess how excited DH was about all this

Jeffrey and Tyra working on their activity books I printed for them.

Devin had to grab our “centerpiece” when the rocket part of the movie came on and he and Jeffrey recreated the scene a few times.

Not sure when we’ll get a chance to do our next movie night – we’ll be camping next Friday night - but we are definitely going to do this again.

That looks like it was a lot of fun! :thumbsup2 It makes me want to watch the movies again...though, I never have seen the third one. I really should make it a point to watch it before my trip.

I think 3 is my favorite - Tyra put that on after Kim & Jeffrey left so we watched 1 and 3 that night :happytv:

On the 30th our local airport was offering free plane rides to anyone ages 8-17. This sounded cool so we took Tyler and my SIL met us there with my 2 nieces. It took a while to get through all the other kids that showed up as well but Tyler and the girls loved it.

Our family farm

Then for the holiday we took a mini vacation to Luray, VA and stayed at the Yogi campground there. We arrived on the 3rd and just hung out at the campground, watched fireworks on the 4th, on the 5th we went tubing on the Shenandoah River, and then on the 6th we took a drive on Skyline Drive. It was a wonderful little get away.

I found a shirt last night for Tyra' pirate outfit. I still want to find some buttons or iron on things to put on her skirt - I had some iron on patches but they've been misplaced since our move.

And another outfit for her - need opinions - the skirt has a white ruffle but do you like the shirt with the white or pink ruffle better - I'm leaning towards the pink ruffle shirt.

And while Devin didn't necessarily need new shirts for this trip I found these 3 at Walmart marked down to just $1 each

71 days now!!! That's awesome! :dance3: Having the photopass pre-ordered already must feel good too, knowing that you don't have to worry about that now :thumbsup2

Chris (DH) and I were talking the other night and he’s definitely planning to go on this trip – I think he’s still in shock that I left him behind in January.:confused3

Anyway, when I made our dining reservations I had included him and Tyler as it’s easy to take 1 or 2 people off but not to add them on. I started thinking about clothes and asked Tyler if he still had a shirt I had bought him before our trip last year as I thought it would coordinate good with one of the dollar shirts I got for Devin. He claims he searched and can’t find it so he’ll just wear something else – this made me snicker so I asked him – are you over the matchy matchy shirts and he replied yes – I knew it was coming – he’s 14 now after all but it’s still hard to accept that my baby is too old for matching shirts.

 That's too cute

We took the kids to the local fire departments carnival last night so this morning they were really dragging butt to get ready. While they were puttering around I set up for dinner tonight - that's right another Disney Movie Night - somehow they magically became motivated when they walked into the dining room - :confused3

Disney Movie Night #2 = success

This time I didn't surprise the kids all the way (I decorated this morning while they were still home so they knew we were going to watch Lilo & Stitch tonight but they didn't find out until this morning). After I picked them up from camp we came home and while I was shreding the pork lion for the BBQ Tyra and Devin made the fruit skewers.

I guess I was taking too long b/c they then decided to eat a fruit skewer

Our feast

movie time

Last night we planned a Jake & the Neverland Pirates theme night – our traveling companions were able to join us.

While I put our pizzas – um pirate ships – in the oven the kids made their masts/sails.

I printed out activity books from the Disney jr. website – the kids loved making the crafts. Here’s Tyra and her looking glass.

The kids playing Pirate Memory (notice their hats – also printed from online)

We watched the cartoon while playing the game so it was a little distracting

On the menu –

Our snacks - Cannon Balls (coco puffs), Cod Fish (goldfish) & Gold Pirate’s Teeth (pineapple tidbits)

Tyler baked a cake while I was at work and I put on the icing and paper cut outs when I got home.

And our Pirate Boats
