We live on the west coast so most of our Disney vacations are in Anaheim. Every trip we eat at Plaza Inn at least once to have their amazing chicken dinner, our favorite place to eat at Disneyland.

Anything comparable to this anywhere in The World? Its okay if its at a resort or Disney Springs. We will be there for two weeks in October.

I have not eaten here but every review i have seen says the Hoop-Dee-Doo review has great fried chicken. I believe that you can get the same fried chicken at a restaurant near HDD but i can't think of the name.

I'm vegetarian, but my chicken-loving family thought the fried chicken at Hoop Dee Doo was fantastic. They serve the same chicken at Trails End, a buffet right next to where Hoop Dee Doo is held. If you're just looking for a cheaper meal, choose Trails End. If you're okay with paying a bit more (roughly twice as much as Trails End), HDD is a really fun show. The food is AYCTE and besides the fried chicken, there's ribs (family thought they were incredible), salad, cornbread, mashed potatoes, beans, veggies, and strawberry shortcake, as well as unlimited beer, sangria, and soft drinks.

I've eaten @ HDDR and yes, the chicken is nicely fried. Not as good as my Nana's but well you know, LOL.
The other restaurant that serves it is Trail's End.

No personal experience there, but supposedly Homecoming at Disney Springs has outstanding fried chicken.

We're headed to Disneyland in May, and Plaza Inn is high on my list.

No experience at Plaza Inn or HDDR, but I can say that Homecoming's fried chicken is fantastic!

I wasn't impressed with the fried chicken at Art Smith's Homecomin'. I went the first month it opened maybe it's gotten better since then. I had the chicken and doughnuts. I've had much better fried chicken.

Yum, Plaza chicken, served so it feeds a small army or someone who's been walking around DLand all day. I agree that Hoop De Doo is excellent and I also like 50s Prime Time Cafe. I never had a gramma who made it, so I don't know if my bar is high enough.

Yes! they definitely give you plenty to eat at Plaza Inn. Hubby and I share the dinner. Have to keep room for delicious disney treats!
Sometimes we get their carrot cake and split that too, but I digress. lol

Oh Prime Time is on my definitely TO DO list for next trip so that might be where I get my chicken!
Probably won't make it to Hoop De Doo, but planning stage is early, so maybe! I like how to can get on a boat at MK and float right on over. :)

Loved the Plaza Inn fried chicken dinner. DH and I ate there twice on our 5 day trip and shared our meal with an extra side. This trip to DW we went over to Pop Century so DH could have the fried chicken dinner which he said was really good. So if you are interested in a counter service dinner Pop Century is the place to go.

Love the fried chicken at The Plaza, we get it every trip. I have had fried chicken at Hoop De Doo, 50s Prime Time, and Homecomin', and in my opinion, none are as good as The Plaza.

I always get it at 50’s and love it. Plus the PB and J Shake is delicious. My daughter doubted me last time we ate there and then she tried mine and I lost it. She couldn’t take her lips off the straw until my shake was gone. Also love Hoop de doo chicken. We are eating both places this upcoming trip. Love me some fried chicken lol

I can confirm this. Homecomin's was the best fried chicken I'd ever had (and maybe the best deviled eggs too. . . ) I had 50s Prime Time the next day and got the favorites plate, which includes fried chicken also. Theirs was very good, but did not even hold a candle to Homecomin'.

Ok my college age son is a fried chicken freak.. We just got back from Jan 2018 trip and give you some info

Hoo Dee Do was the best. You can go to the buffet at Trails end and get same chicken, and the ride over from MK is not bad at all. Worth the visit

50’s prime time was really good he said. 2nd best

Art Smith’s was ok. Not bad or anything, but was not amazing like some folks have reported

We stayed at Art of Animation so we went over to POP to try theirs. HORRIBLE. AS in you we threw it out and sucked up the lost dinner credit. Damn that was so bad..

Totally agree with the importance of treats. WDW = no Matterhorn so no Matterhorn macaroon :(.

I thought HDD was not that good. But Olivia's has Southernmost Buttermilk Fried Chicken. Boneless chicken breast with cream gravy and mashed potatoes and green beans. Excellent.
